Chair yoga makes yoga accessible to people who cannot practice traditional mat yoga. This includes older adults, those with physical limitations and is often used as a starting point for people returning to movement after illness or injury. It incorporates the fundamental elements of a traditional yoga practice - physical postures, breathwork, and mindfulness - while eliminating the need to get up and down from the floor. It supports confidence and body awareness in a controlled way.
Chair Yoga is also used in offices, hospitals, and wellness programs. Its goal remains the same: to support health through safe and adaptable movement.
