Thought I would blog my lip injection journey to show in pictures what it can be like - and help to manage expectations.
So many times I have heard "the filler has disappeared" " it seems like i have had no product put in" and thought my journey in photos would really show what actually happens. My journey was following 1ml of filler with no previous treatment for 6 years.
When you attend your appointment you are advised that bruising, swelling and discomfort are the norm following what is an invasive treatment of a sensory organ, obviously effects can vary person to person and bruising and swelling do not mean you have a terrible injector, swelling follows the trauma of the needle and the product drawing water to the tissue.
The mouth and face are extremely vascular so marking and bruising would not be unusual, infact the most common place to mark,so making sure you don't have big plans for a week or two will be advised.
So here are my photographs - Sunday 7/12/25, before, straight after, that evening and every day since.
What this demonstrates is from looking very large and swollen my lips now look very natural and it would be easy to say it has "disappeared", it definitely hasn't, it is simply the trauma response has settled and the product is settling deeper in the lip tissue.
Remember 1ml is 1/5th of a teaspoon - and your outcome will never be the same as someone elses as we cannot appreciate any one persons volume loss or shape so very often consequent treatments are needed. π
