Wintering....

What does it mean to you?

For me it's slowing down, still moving, still with intentions, still me, but with no rush, race, demand or desire to elevate, unsettle or shatter my nervous system.

My first step into this year...

I have addressed 2 'niggles' in my headspace in 2 days..

By addressing I mean acknowledgement, saying it out loud and finding a way to navigate it in my own time, slowly.

I plan to 'winter' and untangle me.

The yoga I hold space for is "take what you need"... find your way of 'Wintering'.
I guide a class and hold space. You move with where you are at and simply take what you need.

Begin the year with intention at Yoga with Alana’s Reset Workshop, a softly curated morning designed to help you unwind, restore, and reconnect. Set within the tranquil surroundings of Seamill House Hotel, this experience invites you to slow down and gently realign mind and body.

What to expect:
✧ A slow, nourishing yoga flow with mindful breathwork
✧ Deep relaxation to restore and renew
✧ Guided journaling to reflect and set intentions

As we mark Hogmanay and the turning of the year, I want to say thank you to each and every one of you for being part of the Yoga with Alana journey 🤍

Your presence, energy, and support through coming along, shares, likes, and follows, mean more than words can say. I’m deeply grateful for the shared breath, movement, growth, and connection we’ve experienced together.

Rooted in Hatha yoga, this space is about bringing body and mind into alignment, moving with awareness, breathing with intention, and creating balance on and off the mat. Yoga and wellbeing look different for everyone, and you’re invited to take what you need, leave what you don't and meet yourself exactly where you are.

As this journey continues, I’m excited to gently introduce a few new offerings soon, each created with the same intention of supporting wellbeing, deepening connection and honouring your own rhythm. More will unfold in time.

Let’s continue to align with intention, compassion, and curiosity as we flow forward together.

Winter Solstice ❄️🌙

Today we honour the longest night of the year a sacred pause inviting us to slow down, turn inward, and reflect. In our practice we move gently, breathe deeply and grounded ourselves in stillness, allowing the body and mind to fully rest.

The solstice marks the return of the light and reminds us that new beginnings don’t have to be loud they can start quietly. As we approach the New Year, this is a time to release what no longer serves us, set intentional goals, and step forward with clarity, patience and trust.

Today I’m taking this energy into my own Winter Solstice evening, honouring myself fully: my challenges, my growth, my resilience and my mind.

Making time for me.

Yoga is more than movement and poses it’s about connection, awareness and caring for both the mind and body.

As we move into January, I’d love to welcome anyone feeling curious, needing space, or simply wanting to make time for themselves. Come to yoga with Alana not just for the January kick we all feel, but for something deeper, something that supports you, grounds you and creates a positive impact that lasts beyond the month. There’s room for you on the mat 🤍

Here's goes, decision made... Adding a little more movement to my fitness journey ✨

Yoga has been a game-changer, helping me build strength, balance, and stay grounded 🧘‍♀️

I’ve avoided running for a long time (honestly, it never felt like my thing), but now, in perimenopause I’m feeling curious about how it might support my body and energy 🏃‍♀️

As my body evolves and changes, I’m learning to listen differently, honouring what it needs, releasing old expectations, and redefining what strength looks like for me.

This chapter isn’t about pushing harder it’s about showing up, trusting my body, and embracing movement as an act of self-respect and power. Combining yoga and a little something else

So I’m officially learning how to run ....slowly, intentionally and with compassion.

So grateful for each of you who has booked and chosen to slow down, rest, and welcome the returning light with us. Thank you for the love and support. I can’t wait to share this beautiful evening together. 🤍🕯️

Thank you so much for booking into our Winter Solstice Yoga Evening. I am truly grateful to have you all come along for this special seasonal gathering.

The winter solstice invites us to slow down, turn inward, and honour the longest night of the year. Our evening together will be a nurturing blend of mindful movement, grounding breath, and deep rest creating space to release what has been and settle into stillness.

As we rest in the quiet of winter, we also mark the subtle returning of the light, a time to plant gentle intentions and welcome renewal in the weeks ahead. I am so looking forward to sharing this calm, reflective evening with you and holding space for rest, connection, and renewal.

We will close our time together with warm drinks and festive treats, sharing a gentle moment of connection or simply having space for your own reflection before heading back out into the winter night.

✨ Settle In, Slow Down — Final Yoga Sessions of the Year, Pay What You Can ✨

Join me for a calming, grounding Pay What You Can Yoga Class this Thursday 11th December, 12pm–1pm at Fullarton ConneXions, Irvine. 🌿

This class is open to everyone, whether you’re completely new to yoga or already practicing. Let’s move, breathe and take an hour just for you during this busy season. 💛

And for those who prefer a gentler practice, I’ll also be offering a Chair Yoga class from 2pm–3pm, accessible, supportive and perfect for all levels, including beginners, older adults, or anyone who finds floor-based yoga challenging.

How Pay What You Can Works:
The suggested class price is £8, but please simply pay what feels manageable for you. No pressure, no questions,just come as you are.

I have the venue and some mats available, but feel free to bring your own if you prefer. 🧘‍♀️✨

Yoga, for me, has always been about presence, that quiet moment where everything softens and you feel yourself come home to your body. As the holidays approach and life starts to feel a little louder, this practice becomes even more precious.

Whether you’re looking to ground yourself before the holiday rush, wanting to try yoga before the new year begins, or hoping to squeeze in one last nourishing practice before the chaos, these classes are for you. A gentle space to reconnect, reset and breathe deeply.

This season, I’m deepening the heart of Yoga with Alana – aj-yogaandmind by intentionally investing in new training and skills  all to bring you even more holistic support for both body and mind.
