We’re searching for a Maintenance Officer who will take pride in keeping our home safe, welcoming and well cared for. Someone who doesn’t just fix things but helps create an environment where residents feel comfortable, families feel reassured, and staff can do their best work.

🔧 You’ll be the person who makes sure the lights always shine, the fire alarms keep us safe, and the gardens look their best. From quick fixes to planned projects, your work will touch every corner of our home.
💙 In return, we’ll make sure you feel just as valued. With £13.57 per hour, 40 hours a week, ongoing training and the support of a kind, family-led team, you’ll have everything you need to grow and succeed.

✨🎲🍸 Casino Royale Comes to Thornfield! 🍸🎲✨

What an unforgettable night we had at Thornfield Care Home, as staff, residents, relatives, and visitors all came together for our James Bond–style Casino Royale Party! 💃🕺

The home was buzzing with excitement – from thrilling casino card games and our very own slot machine, to the ever-popular “Play Your Cards Right” game. We even had a magician who amazed residents in the afternoon with mind-blowing tricks! 🪄✨

As the afternoon rolled in, the fantastic Jay Hobday kept everyone on their feet with incredible live music 🎶, while cocktails, mocktails, and a feast of homemade food (thanks to our amazing kitchen team 👨‍🍳👩‍🍳) kept spirits high. 🍹🍴

The laughter was loud enough to reach Seaton 😉, and of course, our very own 007 was there – charming the ladies in true Bond fashion. 🕶️🤵

🌟 A huge well done to ALL the amazing staff who made this event happen and made the whole day even more special for everyone. We couldn’t have done it without you! 🌟

It was a night of glitz, glamour, and pure joy – one we’ll all remember for a long time. 💖

🎉✨ Casino Royale Party at Thornfield Care Home! ✨🎉

What an unforgettable day! Our incredible kitchen team, led by the talented Emma, truly outdid themselves. 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳 Every dish was homemade with love and presented at a standard that could rival (and even beat!) a 5-star Michelin restaurant. 🌟

From delicious mains to the most beautifully crafted cakes, our residents and visitors were treated to food that was every bit as spectacular as the party itself. 🍰🥂

We couldn’t be prouder of our Thornfield kitchen team — your hard work, creativity, and passion made the night extra special. 💖

🎉🎂 Last week we had the absolute joy of celebrating David’s birthday here at Thornfield Care Home! 💙✨

For his special treat, David chose to have a classic – delicious fish & chips at Frydays in Seaton today 🐟🍟😋 He absolutely loved every bite! A big thank you to Frydays for looking after us so well and making David’s day so special 🙌💛

Afterwards, Alan took David for a lovely seaside walk 🚶‍♂️🌊☀️ The views in Devon are just breathtaking – the perfect way to end a perfect birthday celebration. 🌸🌿

Here’s to many more happy memories! 🥳🎈

🌦️ Come rain or shine, life at Thornfield Care Home in Seaton carries on as usual — and our doors are always open to visitors! 💙

Today, our amazing dream team, Alan and Lewis, put the wonderful sweet trolley (kindly donated by the fantastic Mike Rowland & Son Master Wheelwrights) to great use. 🍬🍭 It was a real treat for our residents — and we can confirm there are plenty of sweet tooths here at Thornfield! 😋

Visitors are always welcome and Keith had great fun morning with his daughter and grandchildren.

We’ve also heard some exciting whispers around town… apparently Alan is planning something spectacular for tomorrow. 👀✨ We can’t wait to see what surprises the day will bring!

🌧️☁️ The weather may have been tempting us to stay inside with some sweets and TV, but that didn’t stop our amazing staff from taking residents out for a little 1-2-1 time today! 💙

🍦 Not only did they enjoy ice cream while watching the water and the world go by, but they also picked some beautiful flowers 🌸—bringing colour, joy, and plenty of smiles back to Thornfield Care Home.

Because sometimes, it’s the little moments that make the biggest difference. 💐✨

What a wonderful couple of days here at Thornfield Care Home!

😊 Yesterday, our lovely Keith popped down to Seaton town and discovered a fantastic fun fair that’s sticking around for the next two weeks. He skipped the rides but had a great time people-watching, all while rocking his favorite apron that brings back those special memories from the past. Today, with the weather being a bit gloomy, Anders and Lewis stepped up to entertain our residents with some fun gaming sessions, and Brex is treating everyone to extra sweets! 🍬 Apparently, the rain won’t let up for another two weeks, but we’re making the best of it indoors. Stay dry, everyone!

🌟 A Heartfelt Thank You from Thornfield Care Home! 🌟
We were absolutely thrilled today to receive the most incredible surprise from the wonderful Greg at Wheelwrights and Coachbuilders of Colyton! Mike Rowland and Son Master Wheelwrights and Coachbuilders😍 Greg gifted us a stunning wooden trolley, handcrafted with love and steeped in history, made by generations of the Rowland family. This beautiful piece will now proudly serve as our Sweet Trolley and Hydration Station, bringing joy and refreshment to our residents! 🍬💧
The residents couldn’t resist helping themselves to some sweet treats, and we even caught our Interim Manager, Maria, sneaking a cheeky sweet from the trolley! 😄 A huge shoutout to Alan, who organized this wonderful surprise for the residents of Thornfield Care Home and had the honor of cutting the red ribbon to unveil this special gift! 🎀
We are so grateful and touched by this generous donation. A massive thank you to Greg, the Wheelwrights team, and Alan for making our day extra special! 🙏💖

Thornfield Care Home Goes Wild for The King Reborn! 🎸✨

What an UNFORGETTABLE Sunday at Thornfield Care Home! 😍 We were over the MOON to host the phenomenal The King Reborn! The King Reborn 🌟 Elvis was BACK in the building, and WOW, he made it a day to remember! 🕺🎤 The King himself had everyone buzzing, and we’re already counting down to his next visit! 📅🔥
From the moment Elvis strutted in, the energy was ELECTRIC! ⚡️ Even residents who usually skip music were up, dancing, and singing to those legendary Elvis hits! 🥁🎶 Residents, families, AND staff were all swaying, smiling, and soaking in the good vibes! 😄💃 Who can resist those iconic tunes?! 😎🎙️
Our fantastic activity coordinator, Alan, was grinning ear to ear and has his diary in FULL swing to book The King Reborn again! 📚✨ The joy, the nostalgia, the MUSIC—it brought us all together for a Sunday filled with love and laughter! 💖🎉
Huge THANKS to The King Reborn for an epic performance! 🙌 The residents are still humming those classic jams, and families and staff can’t stop raving about the fun! 😊 We’re DEFINITELY bringing Elvis back for more of those good tunes and great times! 🎵🔥

🌞 A Bright Start at Thornfield Care Home 🌞

Before the sun really turned up the heat this morning, our amazing Activity Lead, Alan, whisked a few of our residents off for a quick trip to the garden centre in Colyton. 🌿

Diana took the lead on choosing the perfect flowers for our in-house garden project — we can’t wait to see them brighten up our grounds! 🌸

With temperatures expected to reach 29°C today, we’re reminding everyone to stay hydrated, stick to the shade, and keep cool. We’ve stocked up on lollipops from the local Tesco (pretty sure we bought most of them!) so our residents and staff can enjoy a sweet, refreshing treat throughout the day. 🍭

If you’re passing by, pop in and say hello — we’ll be keeping the garden blooming and the smiles even brighter.
