Update from yesterday:
We would recommend that patients who collected medication from Jhoots choose a pharmacy locally where they would like to collect their repeat medication, or register with an on-line company for home delivery and let us know so we can add this to your record. Your repeat medication request will then be sent electronically from us direct to your nominated pharmacy.

We would however, also advise that you give more notice when ordering to avoid disappointment when collecting.

Hopefully this will be a temporary solution until we know what is happening to the chemist. This has had a massive impact on the practice particularly the dispensary girls and we thank you for your understanding and patience.

RE: Jhoots Pharmacy
"We are working with all partners to try and support the chemist here in Sedbergh but due to the temporary closure here is what we can and cannot do.
• For urgent/same day prescriptions where travel to Kendal/Kirkby Lonsdale is difficult we will supply prescription drugs here in Sedbergh, to those patients who would normally go to JHoots.
• For routine/repeat medication we encourage the same group of patients to nominate either on-line or alternate pharmacies in the area, as we can only supply the prescription drugs on an individual basis after a safety assessment of missing repeat medication.
• We are reviewing options for those patients who receive boxed weekly supplies.
• Those existing patients who get their prescriptions from the surgery (dispensing) are unaffected.

We are having to balance regulations with the need to support healthcare in the local community, that we are proud to be part of"

Please welcome Samantha (Sam) Bowman to the team.
Sam will be joining the nursing team as a healthcare assistant, carrying out blood tests, vitamin B12 injections, ECGs, blood pressure reading, simple dressings, and health checks.

Some of you may have already met Sam when she was here as a student nurse.
We are sure she will be an asset to the surgery.
