We've had a fabulous fancy dress day as requested by one of the lovely ladies living with us!

Staff and families joined in, and the amazing singer Gilly dressed up too, we had lots of lovely treats and a fun filled day.

Our More...Sensory session began with gentle stretches and More...Movement, in addition to breathwork and guided focus on energy points in the body.

I then gave a guided meditation about being beneath the stars, while listening to relaxing meditation music. On the ceiling we had a beautiful sensory light show of stars and planets, which opened a discussion afterwards about space travel and the wonders of the world.

To finish, I read poetry about being able to travel anywhere with the power of thought and memories, which linked the whole session together. Grace (one of the lovely ladies living with us) had kindly shared a collection of poems her friend had written, and so I asked if it was ok to read them in the session as I felt they matched the theme so well. Grace said after that she loved the session.

Everyone was calm and said they had thoroughly enjoyed it and felt very relaxed.

We had the pleasure of having Aycliffe and Brancepeth Brass Band come to play for us all here at Willowdene!

Safe to say, they were fantastic and the people living with us had a great time singing and dancing along.

The people living with us enjoyed this weekends activities, which included a More...Creativity session where we designed our own paper fans to keep us cool, our weekly More...Movement Just Bowl session, and had our hair done and had manicures for More...Relaxation!
