We can learn from this ancient rhythm. Just as the tree conserves its vital force, this is our time to turn inward, to ground ourselves, and to nurture our inner energy.

Our qigong practice shifts with the season—focusing less on expansive movement and more on building a deep, rooted reservoir of calm. It's how we align with nature's flow.

What practices are helping you turn inward this season? 🍂

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the fifth treasure or brocade, “Move the Head”, is a key practice for cooling and calming the body's energy.

Join us tomorrow as we dive into this beautiful movement to release neck & shoulder tension, improve flexibility in the spine, calm the mind, reduce stress and balance the heart fire.

All levels are welcome. No experience needed—just a willingness to breathe and move.

Tomorrow we continue our work on Ba Duan Jin which is highly effective in improving balance and reducing the risk of falls, particularly in older adults and individuals with conditions affecting motor control (e.g. stroke). This is because we work on our root and centre along with the slow, controlled movements, we enhance proprioception and neuromuscular coordination.

🌟 Ready to dive into your practice? 🌟

We’re embarking on a beautiful journey with Ba Duan Jin - the legendary “Eight Pieces of Brocade” (also known as “Eight Treasures” or “Eight Silken Movements”).
This isn’t just another qigong form - it’s one of the most treasured and widely practiced patterns in Chinese wellness tradition. ✨
Why Ba Duan Jin?
The eight interconnected movements flow like silk, creating that coveted “silken quality” in both body and energy. It’s smooth, it’s flowing and it’s transformative.

For beginners: Perfect foundation building - these movements will teach you the fundamentals while delivering incredible health benefits.

For experienced practitioners: Time to refine, deepen and discover new layers within these ancient movements.

Ideal for martial artists too, Ba Duan Jin will enhance their training.

Ba Duan Jin offers something profound for everyone. The beauty is in how it meets you exactly where you are in your journey.

Are you ready to experience the silk-like flow of these eight treasures?

Tuesday 10 am Scout Hall, West End, Sedgefield.
