For those of you who may be new to us or who are not already aware we would like to introduce you to Lisa, our office manager and clinical care co-ordinator here at the Ridgeway.

Lisa has worked in the NHS for 33 years and joined The Ridgeway Surgery back in 2003 as a filing clerk, working her way up to receptionist, senior receptionist and then office manager by completing various training courses.

Over the 22 years Lisa has been working at the Ridgeway Surgery she has worked in all aspects of the administration department. She now supports staff, trainee staff, manages staff work rotas and oversees reception.

Lisa is the go to person here at the Ridgeway for any queries both from staff and patients!

We would like to introduce you to our new practice nurse Elle

Elle has been a nurse for 4 years and has spent the last 3.5 years working as a nurse in GP surgeries.

Elle started here at the Ridgeway with us yesterday as a part time nurse working across 4 days.

Just like our other nurses Elle will be seeing patients for annual reviews, dressings, injections, cervical screening and blood pressure monitoring.

We are excited to welcome Elle into our team here at The Ridgeway Surgery

Throughout the summer, essential resurfacing works will take place in the Russells Hall Hospital visitor car parks. This will begin with the maternity car park on Saturday 19th July.

Over a two-week period, contractors will close the maternity car park in sections to allow resurfacing with minimal disruption. We would ask that if you are visiting the hospital that you allow additional time ahead of your visit.

We will share details of the resurfacing for the main visitor car park in the coming weeks.

Here at the surgery we have Beauty our physician associate working 2 days a week.

Beauty has been a PA since 2021 and is trained to see any acute/minor illnesses in patients over the age of 2 such as infections, dizziness, hay fever, rashes, eczema, lower back pain, headaches, tiredness, constipation and high cholesterol.

Recently Beauty has also been completing some long term condition reviews both face to face and over the phone.

She is also working with patients who may need adjustments to their medical records such as patients with sight/hearing issues in order for the surgery to make any reasonable adjustments when contacting/seeing the patient.

Beauty works closely with the doctors/nurses and other members of the team here at the Ridgeway Surgery.

Anyone can become unwell in hot weather. Look out for older people, people with long-term health conditions and young children.

Staying cool is important; you can close curtains in your home but also remember that it may be cooler outdoors. Remember to stay hydrated as well.
