Most people are strong OR flexible.
Yogis are both 👊🏻
We have been chatting in class about flexibility (prompted by 75 year old hazel being the most flexible person in the room) but do we know why flexibility is so important?
🐝Flexibility plays a big role in everyday health, not just for athletes or dancers.
🐝Being flexible means that you will reduce your risk of injury as you get better at handling sudden movements, like slipping, lifting something awkwardly, or even just turning quickly.
🐝Flexibility increases mobility and daily comfort
Simple things…..bending down, reaching overhead, getting out of a chair—feel easier when your joints aren’t restricted.
🐝Being bendy will improve posture and reduce pain
A lot of common issues (especially back, neck, and shoulder pain) come from muscle imbalances and stiffness.
Drop me a message for some info on classes to improve your flexibility…..and for those who say they aren’t flexible enough for yoga…..that is like saying you are too dirty to take a bath 😉
General consensus is that flexibility improves after around three yoga classes so what are you waiting for?
PS I have space in 7pm hot yoga this evening x
