Westwood Care Home Welcome to Westwood Care Home, a comfortable, secure and friendly care home in Selby.

Set in large, mature grounds, we are home to 16 elderly male and female residents. Our aim is to create a true home from home in a happy and caring environment.

😊We have had a fun filled week at Westwood this week. We have celebrated our lovely Margaret’s birthday🎉, had our hair done by the hairdresser 💇🏼‍♀️and took part in lots of one to one activities!. We even had time to do u sit exercises 🏃‍♂️with the lovely Mark. Well done everyone 😊

We have had a busy week at Westwood, keeping cool with icecreams 🍨🍦
Playing dominoes, doing jigsaws, u sit u excersise, one to ones & we have had a family of hedgehogs come to see us 🦔🦔
The residents love the wildlife that our garden attracts, feeding the birds daily, we have a regular pigeon visiting us & the flowers smell lovely.
Our staff also attended their annual moving and handling refresher & first aid today. Busy week so far all round! 🥰🥰

❤️Happy Father’s Day❤️ to all the dads, step dads and grandads. From everyone at Westwood we hope you all have a lovely day. Our ladies and gents have enjoyed a visit from the king 👑 himself Elvis!. We have all enjoyed dancing and singing 🎶. Big Thankyou to QCL Leanne for organising, SCA Faye, carers Georgia and Julian and cook Jayne for making the day special ⭐ xx

Some of our residents enjoyed the sun in the garden today & then elaine made some fruit floats, which went down a treat.
Elaine used aid sachets that were sent as a sample which contain lots of vitamins and nutrients, and have much more flavour than cordial, some of the residents even had seconds 🍦
Perfect for a hot day 🌞
We are all looking forward to our elvis tribute on sunday for Fathers day 🎵

We have enjoyed lots of one to ones this week, doing jigsaws, spending time in the garden, reminiscing.
Dont forget this sunday we have the fabulous Elvis tribute act from 1.30pm 🎤

A Damp few days outside 🌧 We certainly have not let that dampen our spirits ☺️
A visit from u sit u exercise yesterday to keep the body and muscles healthy 💪
Followed by a day of Jigsaws, reading, fiddle boards, not one size fits all, tables were set out for residents to engage in activity of their choice & some one to ones done with those 🥰
