❤️ Healthy Hearts & Cardiovascular System Workshop ❤️

This session will discuss the primary prevention of risks to your cardiovasular health, with a focus on:

🔴 high cholesterol
🔴 high blood pressure
🔴 blood sugar management
🔴 kidney function and how this links with heart health
🔴 knowing your numbers

We will be sharing tips and advice on how to protect your heart and cardiovascular health through exercise, nutrition, and stress management, with a particular focus on blood pressure and cholesterol management.

There will also be ideas and resources to take away to help you learn more about your cardiovascular system and how to keep it healthy. You will be able to ask the healthcare team any questions you may have, and there will be an opportunity to access other local services that can support you with health and wellbeing.

Ideal for individuals with:
🔴 Hypertension
🔴 High blood lipids
🔴 New diagnosis of type 2 diabetes
🔴 Pre-diabetes
🔴 Chronic kidney disease stage 3
🔴 Non-alcoholic liver disease

Our incredible Community Health and Wellbeing Workers are holding community cafés every month ☕️

Come along for a cuppa and free health advice and support with a different focus each month. Everybody is welcome and you can meet new people within your community!

The cafés are held at St Richard's Centre on Barwic Parade on the last Tuesday of every month and Our Space - Selby on Flaxley Road on the first Wednesday of every month.

Active North Yorkshire Selby & Tadcaster are on a mission to make blood pressure checks a normal part of everyday life — in community spaces, local groups, events, and workplaces.

❤️ Delivering Healthy Heart MOTs in your workplace as part of wellbeing days or staff health initiatives.
❤️ Providing trained volunteers to visit your site and offer blood pressure checks to staff.
❤️ Training your own staff to become Heart Health Champions, enabling them to carry out checks and promote a culture of wellbeing internally.
