This simple humming breath helps calm a stressed nervous system.
When your nervous system is stressed your body produces adrenaline and cortisol, which over time cause inflammation in the body.

Practicing this breath technique twice a day for 5 minutes, once in the morning and once before bed will shift your nervous system out of stress and into rest and digest.

This is the foundation of my 12 week programme, the release method.
We don’t force calm.
We don’t ignore symptoms.
We help the body feel safe enough to let go.

Step 1 :Awareness
Notice where your body is holding stress
Hips, chest, jaw, shoulders, feet
Fight or flight always leaves a physical trace.

Step 2:
Create safety before release
Your body will not release if it still feels
in danger.

Step 3: Release
Shaking.
Softening of muscles
Twitching.
Deeper breath.
This is your nervous system completing the stress cycle.

Carrying stress in your shoulders indicates you are carrying responsibilty that isn’t all yours

2. Shallow or Restricted Breathing
Your body doesn’t feel safe enough to fully relax. Your nervous system is in fight or flight mode

3. A clenched jaw or tight face
You’ve been holding words in or putting on a brave face.

4. A tight or churning stomach
Your body is stuck in worry or trying to “digest” too much at once.

Stress doesn’t just live in your mind it lives in your body.

When you’re overwhelmed, your breath is the fastest way back into your body.

Slow and lengthen the exhale. Make it longer than your inhale. This shifts your nervous system out of fight & flight and into rest and digest .

When you bite your tongue, don’t speak your truth or put on a brave face that supressing is held in your facial muscles.

Do this for 30 seconds to release stress and tension from your face. Consciously tense all your face muscles on an inhale and then relax and release on an exhale. Then relax and breathe gently through your nose

When you stay strong, keep the peace, or don’t say what you really feel, your face works hard to hide it.
Over time, that effort gets stored as tension.

During a release session, your nervous system may unwind that holding on its own.
Not because you forced it but because your body finally felt safe enough to stop performing.

This is how emotions move through the body.

Every morning, my client woke up with:
a wave of doom
intense shakiness
racing thoughts
zero concentration

Her nervous system arousal score on waking?
5 out of 5. Every day.

So naturally, she tried:
analysing the feeling
bracing herself for the day
asking “why is this happening?”
mentally preparing for the worst
👉 Which only made her body fire faster.

We didn’t try to calm the symptoms.
We worked on micro regulation:
60–90 second practices
done twice a day
teaching her body how to downshift
No big routines. No overwhelm. Just consistency.

After 3 weeks:
Her waking hyperarousal dropped from 5/5 → 3/5
on multiple mornings each week.
That might sound small.
But in nervous system work that’s huge, especially when she’s had this response her whole life

Here’s the twist most people miss 👇
Her body wasn’t reacting anymore…
It was anticipating.
Her nervous system had learned:
“Morning = danger.”
So the response started before anything happened.

We stopped focusing on:
❌ anxiety
❌ shaking
❌ symptoms

And started working on one thing only:
