Many thanks to Jennie aka Merry Poppins for another wonderful, interactive storytelling session at Gloucester House this morning at our weekly intergenerational playgroup 'Little Acorns'.
The children explored the letter 'K', with stories, sounds and songs. Lots of 'K' sounds - Kangaroo, Key, King, Kite and Kittens.
The book for story time was 'Kipper's Beach Ball' and the children had fun finding kites hidden around the room!
This was sadly the last morning of our playgroup at Gloucester House as the home is closing in September.
The playgroup started back in September 2017 with a handful of adults, little people, eager residents, a basket of second-hand toys and lots of enthusiasm. Almost 8 years later, the playgroup has evolved into a vibrant community of adults, little people and residents joining together to laugh, sing, learn, play and forge friendships across the generations every Tuesday morning.
Many thanks to Jennie aka Merry Poppins and Meina from Kiddleydivey for their wonderful interactive sessions.
The biggest thanks go everyone who has come along to 'Little Acorns' - You really did make a difference to the lives of our residents and it was the highlight of the week for many of them over the years ###
