Congratulations to Kevin and Tracy who celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary yesterday. They renewed their vows at All Saints Parish Church in Northfleet followed by a reception at Higham Village Club.
Helping them to celebrate were colleagues (past & present) from Gloucester House. What a beautiful day for a beautiful couple ###

Many thanks to Jennie aka Merry Poppins for another wonderful interactive storytelling session at Gloucester House this morning at our weekly intergenerational playgroup 'Little Acorns'.
The children continued to explore the letter 'O', with stories, sounds and songs. Lots of 'O' sounds - Oars, Octopus, Orange, Ostrich & Ox. The book for story time was 'Olivia'.
Merry Poppins will back next week with a new letter to explore.

Soft lights, gentle music, beautiful smells coming from the diffusers and peaceful scenes projected onto the walls - Another lovely session in our Summer themed sensory room with Leanne from DGM Aromatics as residents relaxed in the sensory atmosphere.

Many thanks to the very talented and entertaining 'Southern Strummers Ukulele Group' for playing at Gloucester House this afternoon - Lots of singing along, playing tambourines, clapping, foot tapping and a George Formby song especially for Janet - It was so much fun!

Many thanks to Jennie aka Merry Poppins for another wonderful interactive storytelling session at Gloucester House this morning at our weekly intergenerational playgroup 'Little Acorns'.
The children explored the letter 'O', with stories, sounds and songs. Lots of 'O' sounds - Oars, Octopus, Orange, Ostrich & Ox.
The book for story time was 'Oi Frog!' (Brilliant voices by Jennie!) and the children had fun finding frogs hidden around the room!
Merry Poppins will back next week with more adventures with the letter 'O'.

Congratulations to the amazing residents of Gloucester House who have completed another virtual challenge – This time, they took a walk along the Amalfi Coast with dramatic views of the crystal-blue Mediterranean sea, local fishing villages, and iconic terraced lemon groves. They enjoyed a cold glass of Limoncello as they crossed the finish line!
The residents took their virtual journey with The Conqueror Challenges and have enjoyed receiving 6 postcards along the way, as well as planting another 5 trees.
In total, they have completed twelve challenges, have covered 2283 miles and have planted 60 trees - Of which they are very proud!
The residents have decided their next challenge will a trip to the Lake District

Resident Lois and her daughter Cathy were out and about this afternoon on the Gloucester House mini bus for a visit to the Brookside Garden Centre, which holds special memories for both of them. They caught up with old friends, Terry & Beryl, who own the garden centre, over tea and cakes.

'Bonjour' - All things French today at Gloucester House as we held an early Bastille Day celebration!
This morning, we explored French history & culture and had a quiz about all things French. Many thanks to all the residents who shared their memories of holidays in France.
Nickola, Wendy and Leigh became French waiters for the day & everyone enjoyed Macrons and French Fancies for afternoon tea.
Many thanks to the brilliant David Woloszko Entertainment who sang for us this afternoon with a brilliant set of French songs, which everyone loved!
