We believe that all beef and dairy products from cows whose feed contains additives used for reducing methane emissions, should be labelled to state that this is the case, so the public can decide whether to consume or not, instead of consuming unknowingly. We believe it should be our choice.

"My Mothers , Mothers Before"
It is not just your mother who may walk with you in spirit, it is her mother too. And her mother’s mother. And her mother’s friends, who loved by choice and not blood. And the women before them. Generations and generations of female energy, watching in admiration as you forge ahead living better, feeling better, accepting better, than they ever did. As they were much hoped you would. So, when you feel low, lonely or unloved. Remember them, feel them. They are with you, and they burn brightly with their boundless light, in everything you do. You, my friends, are the ‘moment in time’ of many women gone before, and you will lay pathways, like they did, for those who come up next.
This is not ending but a beginning

The liver plays a critical role in both the synthesis and transformation of vitamin D and vitamin D has been shown to help maintain overall liver function:

1. Synthesis of Vitamin D:
The first step in vitamin D synthesis occurs in the skin when UVB radiation converts 7-dehydrocholesterol into cholecalciferol, which is then transported to the liver, where it undergoes hydroxylation (addition of a hydroxyl group) by the enzyme 25-hydroxylase, resulting in the formation of calcifediol (25-hydroxyvitamin D, or calcidiol).

2. Transformation of Vitamin D:
Calcifediol is the major circulating form of vitamin D and serves as the primary storage form in the body. In the kidneys, calcifediol undergoes further hydroxylation to form calcitriol, the biologically active form of vitamin D.

3. Impact of Vitamin D on Liver Function:
Vitamin D receptors (VDRs) are present in hepatocytes (liver cells), indicating the importance of vitamin D in liver function:

- Hepatic Inflammation: Vitamin D exhibits anti-inflammatory properties and may help mitigate inflammation in the liver. Chronic inflammation in the liver can lead to conditions such as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) and liver fibrosis.
- Liver Fibrosis: Vitamin D has been shown to inhibit the activation of hepatic stellate cells, which are key mediators of liver fibrosis. By reducing the accumulation of scar tissue in the liver, vitamin D may help prevent the progression of fibrotic liver diseases.
- Liver Enzymes: Studies have suggested that vitamin D deficiency may be associated with elevated liver enzymes, which can indicate liver damage or dysfunction. Adequate vitamin D levels may help maintain normal liver enzyme levels and support liver health.
- Liver Fat Accumulation: Vitamin D may play a role in regulating lipid metabolism in the liver and reducing fat accumulation. This is particularly relevant in NAFLD, where excessive fat deposition in the liver can lead to inflammation and liver damage.

In summary, the liver is involved in the synthesis and transformation of vitamin D, and vitamin D in turn plays a crucial role in maintaining liver health. 💪🏻
