Embracing the Darkness: How I Find My Motivation for Physical Activity During Darker Month.
As the days grow shorter and darkness consumes our mornings and evenings, it’s quite common for our motivation to hit a slump.
However, staying active during these dark days is crucial for our physical and mental well-being.

It’s time to break free from the chains of gloomy weather and ignite the flame 🔥 of motivation within ourselves.

Here are my strategies to keep moving despite the dark days.

🌳Embrace the Outdoors🌳
While it may seem tempting to remain indoors during the dark days, getting outside and immersing yourself in nature 🌿can do wonders for your motivation. Sunlight, even in limited quantities, can boost your mood and energy levels. So put on some layers and take a stroll through a park or a nearby trail—it’s a refreshing break from the monotony and a great opportunity to connect with nature.

🎧Energizing Beats to Kickstart Your Body into Movement 🎧

When the sun is nowhere to be seen, it can be difficult to find the energy to get moving. But with the right playlist ▶️, you can instantly elevate your mood and get into the workout mindset.
My playlist today was all about the great 70’s 🕺🕺🕺🕺

Music has the power to synchronize our mind and body, making physical activity more rhythmic 🥁and fluid 🏃‍♀️

So, crank up the volume🔊, let the music guide your movements, and let your mind and body work in harmony.

🏅Online Challenges to Boost Excitement:
Another fantastic way that keeps me motivated during the dark days is to take part in online challenges. There are countless fitness challenges available. I am currently doing the RACE TO THE SOUTH POLE by a virtual race with a bunch of friends from my walking group. Not only will this challenge add an element of excitement and fun to my fitness routine, but it also provides a sense of belonging to a community of like-minded individuals who will cheer you on and celebrate your progress.
