The hidden cost of skipping breakfast
(the hormone & movement edition)

We’re busy!
We’re juggling a lot!
And sometimes a cup of coffee or tea feels like the quickest way to get going!

But in midlife, a cuppa on an empty stomach can leave you feeling more wired than steady 🙁

You might notice:

• Everything feels a bit “too much”
• Exercise feels harder to start
• The afternoon brings jitters or a crash
• You’re grazing or overeating later without really meaning to

It’s not a lack of discipline it’s just your body trying to keep up without fuel!

There can be a quiet price to skipping breakfast at this stage of life and it often shows up in your mood, your energy, and your workouts 🩷

If this sounds familiar, try adding something small in the morning this week. Nothing fancy. Just enough to steady you enough to get your day starting well 👌🏼

Lift Heavy?

We’re hearing a lot about lifting heavy in midlife & I’m not suggesting this is wrong at all!

And strength training is essential 👌🏼
But heavy weights aren’t the only way to build strength 🙌🏼

Research shows lighter loads with higher reps can still stimulate muscle growth and strength especially when done with effort and progression (check out my stories)

For many midlife women, this approach can feel a great place to start, safer, more achievable & far more sustainable 👌🏼

Yes we still need effort & exertion but we can get huge benefits with our 2/ 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 kg weights 👍🏼
