💜 Many people living with dementia don’t forget to eat — they forget that they haven’t eaten.

It’s very common for individuals with dementia to forget to eat or drink — not because they don’t want to, but because the routine and cues around meals can become harder to recognise.

That’s why our carers focus on small, regular meals and snacks throughout the day, helping to maintain energy levels, mood, and overall wellbeing.

On this visit, our carer prepared a simple snack and left it ready with a note — a gentle prompt to encourage eating later on. 📝

You’ll also notice the hydration jelly alongside the drink. These are a fantastic way to support hydration, especially for those who may not feel thirsty or struggle to drink enough fluids.

🌿 Moments like this remind us how special our community really is.

After a lovely visit to the Otford Lunch Club, where a few of our clients enjoy spending time each week, we took a moment to pause and look out across the beautiful Shoreham hills.

The birds singing, the fresh air, the peaceful countryside — it was one of those moments where everything just felt calm and still.

But what makes the lunch club truly special isn’t just the setting — it’s the people.

Local residents coming together for a warm meal, a sweet dessert, good conversation and of course the famous raffle! 🎟️

There is such a genuine sense of community, kindness and companionship in that room. Everyone is welcomed, everyone is included, and everyone leaves with a smile.

This is exactly why opportunities like this matter so much — connection, laughter and shared moments can make such a difference to someone’s wellbeing.

Today, one of our carers spent time with our client, S, helping sort out the bird feed and her cat bits. Noticing her flowers had passed their best, she picked up some fresh ones to brighten the room 🌸

S was genuinely delighted — and moments like this are exactly why we do what we do.
