We are exploring mental health this week as it is Mental Health Awareness Week... we are creating worry dolls, and we have some mindfulness colouring to do!

We will be learning how to take care of babies tomorrow at playgroup, with a washing station and towels to keep them warm!

Every week, we have a different craft/activity based on a theme. We have lots of toys to play with including ride on toys, a mini roller coaster, a baby area with sensory toys, we use our outdoor grass space, and we sing at the end.

NEW LOCATION!

We have a New Name and a New Venue! We are now called Potters Tots playgroup and tomorrow is our first Friday session in the new location! We haven’t managed to work out how to change the name on here as yet though 🙈😂😂😂

Come and join us 9.30-11.00am, Potters Mede, Wrotham Road, Borough Green, TN15 7RD. There is loads of parking available.

We will be celebrating the coronation with a collage craft. Feel free to dress in red, white and blue to start getting in the mood for the coronation bank holiday weekend!! 🇬🇧👑🇬🇧👑🇬🇧👑🇬🇧👑

We are also running at a slightly lower price of £2.50 for first child and 50p per sibling. Tea, coffee, squash and snacks included as always. We look forward to seeing you in the morning!!

*****WE ARE MOVING!*****

Hello to all our tots friends.

We wanted to give you the heads up that Tots will be having its last week at St George’s Hall this Friday 28th April.

As of Friday 5th May we will be moving to the Hall at Potters Mede and merging with the Platt baby / toddler group which used to run on a Thursday.

We know this may come as a shock but there are various reasons for the move and merge.

1. Increase in rent at both halls: We are already only barely covering our costs each week and this will become even harder with the cost increase.

2. Pressure on volunteers: those who do run and support the group do an amazing job but merging with another group will mean we are able to share the organizational load making the continuation of the group more sustainable.

3. Keeping it affordable: we know many people could afford a price increase to cover hall costs but we feel that it is important that the group remains affordable for all. These groups are essential for our communities and should be kept low cost so those who need it the most are still able to access it.

We will do another post early next week with more details but obviously wanted to reassure everyone that a Friday group WILL STILL BE RUNNING it will just be in a different location and will look a little different.

All the toys, snacks, crafts, singing and fun will definitely still continue.

We appreciate your understanding as we make difficult choices for the future of the groups that are available in our area. ###

👋Baby sign demonstration 👋

Not only do we have a Mothers Day craft this week but we are also welcoming Tracy who will be leading a free introduction to baby signing at the end of the group when we normally do singing.

We are very excited to welcome Tracy to our Tots group next week (17th) who will be doing an introduction to baby signing at the end of the playgroup when we normally do our singing session - please see more info below about her classes.

Baby Signing

Experts say that signing helps children to communicate before they can speak! and children that sign have a wider vocabulary and do better at school than non signing children and can help tantrums and frustration.

Classes are just £7.75 per class and held on Tuesday afternoons at 1.30 in the Baptist Church in West Kingsdown where there will also be a FREE baby and toddler group running from 1pm – 3pm. Baby Sign classes are also available in the comfort of your own home or nursery on a day/time of your choice. Little Bright Sparks fun phonics and numeracy classes

Give your child a head start before they go to school! During these interactive groups you and your child will learn through fun and play. In these small classes (just 6 children per session) children love to learn by singing songs, playing games and having fun and these fast paced exciting lessons will keep the attention of even the most easily distracted child as they “choose” what to play with while they learn. Each week is themed and children have the opportunity to spend some one to one time with the teacher.

Classes are held on Tuesdays at 12.15 in West Kingsdown or in the comfort of your own home/nursery on a day/time of your choice.
