Millbrook residents had the opportunity to create their very own Valentine or celebration card this morning. There were different coloured cards to choose from, ribbons, stickers and embellishments galore.

Every resident who took part thoroughly enjoyed themselves, whether they were making a secret Valentine or a celebration card for someone dear. One even managed to make three cards, all ready for family celebrations and couldn’t wait to post them.

Residents at Millbrook House enjoyed a very special visit this week from retired professional pianist Peter Papworth 🎹
Peter treated everyone to a wonderful mix of instantly recognisable tunes, from ABBA to musical favourites like Phantom of the Opera and Joseph, as well as classic songs such as Bring Me Sunshine that brought smiles all around.
When asked if we should invite Peter back, the answer was a unanimous YES! We’re already looking forward to his next visit in March.

Millbrook House residents love getting active in the afternoons, especially when the games are noisy! 😄
Tin Can Alley is a firm favourite and you can see from the looks of concentration, followed by plenty of laughter, just how much they enjoy it. They also get great amusement from watching Marcia and Serena hunting down the fallen cans as they scatter under chairs and tables, ready to be stacked up again!

As usual, the cake was brought in with staff singing, gifts and cards in hand, much to the birthday girl’s initial surprise (and a little embarrassment at being the centre of attention!), followed quickly by delight, as you can see from the photos.

Millbrook House was treated to its very own pantomime last week! 🎭
Performers from the Treehouse Theatre entertained residents with a pantomime-style production of Alice in Wonderland. From the very beginning, our residents were completely gripped, with the excitement building throughout.
Some residents even took part in the performance, alongside our wonderful activities ladies, Marcia and Serena, who played a Queen’s henchman and a hedgehog! The fantastic props and costumes really made it feel like we were sitting in a real auditorium.
As you can see from the photos, a fabulous time was had by all… oh no it wasn’t! 😉

This month’s coffee morning was held in support of Dementia UK, a cause very close to many of our hearts. Yesterday, The Old Rectory was delighted to welcome some new singers, The Two Hats. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed a fun-filled afternoon of singing along and even dancing to a fabulous selection of songs. With a huge variety of music, including some with a twist — the atmosphere was absolutely lovely.
We were even put to the test to see if we could guess who originally sang each song!
