Last week we had a very special visit from Blandford Animal Farm who brought along 3 beautiful rescued guinea pigs for our residents to meet and hold 🐹🥕

some of our residents bravely had all three guinea pigs sitting on there laps at once! it was such a joy to see everyone interacting, stroking them gently and chatting about pets they've loved over the years 💚

Yesterday we celebrated johns birthday with lots of smiles and laughter 🥳
john revived some lovely gifts from the home, including a bottle of cider which he was especially pleased about.🍻
We then enjoyed a fantastic rhythm and reminiscence session with the wonderful Paula. There was plenty of singing,dancing and foot tapping all around- a perfect way to continue the celebrations 🪘🪇🎼

On Friday our residents enjoyed a wonderful gardening activity 🍃
We planted sunflower,strawberry and cress seeds, which will soon begin growing in our vegetable garden . it was a lovely session filled with conversation and shared memories.
We are looking forward to watching them grow 🍓🌻

Residents at Cedars were delighted yesterday to receive such a generous donation of flowers. we spent are morning arranging them into beautiful displays and vases to brighten the home 🌹🌼🌺💐

At our care home, we believe that staying active should be fun.

🎄✨ Spreading Christmas Cheer! ✨🎄

Yesterday we had the absolute pleasure of welcoming children from Flying Start Nurseries to the Cedars — and what a magical visit it was!

The little ones joined our residents in making beautiful Christmas decorations for our tree, filling the room with creativity and colour.

They also brought along Christmas cards for each residents, each with a personal message or drawing, which truly touched the hearts of our residents. 💕📬

To top it all off, the children treated us to some wonderful Christmas carols, bringing lots of smiles.

A huge thank you to the nursery staff, the children, and our residents for making today so special. These moments mean more than words can say.

🐹💛 A Very Special Visit at the Care Home Today! 💛🐹

We had some absolutely adorable guests join us—a group of gentle, cuddly guinea pigs! Their visit brought so much joy, comfort, and laughter to our residents. It was heart-warming to see how something as simple as a soft little nose nuzzle or the sound of happy squeaks could brighten someone’s whole day.

Pet therapy like this is incredibly therapeutic—it helps reduce stress, lifts spirits, and provides a sense of companionship that so many of our residents truly miss. Many of them have had pets throughout their lives, and moments like today help them reconnect with those cherished memories. ❤️

A huge thank-you to everyone at Blandford Animal Farm and Sanctuary who helped make this visit possible. Judging by the smiles, cuddles, and stories shared, we’ll definitely be welcoming our furry friends back again soon! 🐹✨
