Springfield Nursing Home is a welcoming nursing care home located in Shanklin, Isle of Wight, offering personalised residential, dementia and respite care in peaceful, landscaped grounds. Located on the East of the Island on a quiet road within short walking distance of both the beach and train station, Springfield is a stunning Edwardian building that has been carefully extended over the years, providing a comfortable and homely environment for residents. Springfield is equipped with 42 bedrooms and an attractive outside area, including a courtyard garden, patio and raised flower beds.

Today was Noreen’s Birthday. She had a lovely day with her family and friends.
This morning we enjoyed knit and natter. Then this afternoon we were entertained by Paul singing a Buddy Holly tribute.

This morning we enjoyed painting daffodils ready for St David’s Day on Sunday.
It was a very relaxing start to the day.

Then this afternoon we had some healthy competition with a game of skittles.

We had joint winners with Joan and Steph taking 1st place. 🥇

Another fabulous day here at Springfield Nursing Home - Hartford Care

This morning we had our monthly Boxing session with Mark.
The residents enjoy getting the gloves on and working on their fitness.

Then this afternoon we sat in the garden, making the most of the sunshine and completing two quizzes.

This morning we enjoyed our monthly Tai chi session with Tracey, it was lovely and relaxing.

Then this afternoon we were entertained by the brilliant Chris sinatra and his music show.
The residents enjoyed a great sing along.

We were also visited by Yasmine our hca with her adorable son.

Red or Black.
Las Vegas came to Springfield.
We enjoyed afternoon on the Roulette wheel as our group activity.

Blanca was our Winner today. 🏆

We enjoyed using the VR headset this afternoon.

We enjoyed immersive videos on Athens, Swimming with Sharks, flying in a fighter jet and cute kittens.

Whilst also playing word games on the tiny tablet.

This morning we enjoyed our twice weekly chair exercise session and finished it with our parachute game.

Then this afternoon the residents enjoyed a relaxing hand massage and face roller.
Our carers were also given a shoulder and neck massage.

Today we had a very interesting talk by Ability Dogs for young people.
It was a lovely community Event to raise money for them.

We all enjoyed coffee and cake.
The afternoon activity was creative writing.

Today we celebrated pancake day and Chinese New year.
This morning we enjoyed songs of praise with Jane, our anna chaplain.

At lunchtime we enjoyed sweet n sour chicken and for dessert we had yummy pancakes.

Then this afternoon we played darts and flipped pancakes.

We all had another lovely afternoon at Springfield Nursing Home - Hartford Care.

We were entertained by the brilliant Dave Lee, and his music show.

The residents told me they enjoyed all the music.
