Relax With Lucy & Co was set up to offer well-being and mental health support through the provision of mindfulness & relaxation interventions. The organisation was set up by our founder Lucy Livesey - mental health nurse and bereaved mother following the loss of her daughter Ellie in 2017. Lucy and our team of instructors deliver projects to help support the baby loss community through the development of mindfulness & relaxation resources. We offer both well-being baby loss tailored support in addition to general well-being support to help people improve their overall sense of wellbeing. All proceeds raised, goes into our Ellie's Gift Project fund which funds all our baby loss interventions and the ongoing maintenance of our Ellie's Gift app.

Last week we shared our upcoming Monthly Support Space, and so many of you reached out to tell us how much you’d love to attend, but that our timings, or Zoom access just weren’t always possible.

💜 So we’ve listened 💜

This month, our Monthly Support Space will be live on YouTube and within our Ellie’s Gift Facebook group, and saved to watch back whenever feels right for you. This means you can join in live or return to it in your own space and time.

This will now be a quiet, reflective support space with guided reflection and gentle prompts to offer comfort, a sense of grounding and even connection without any pressure to speak or be seen.

This space is for anyone who has experienced pregnancy or baby loss, at any time and in any circumstances. You don’t need any experience with the practice of mindfulness.

✨ Just come exactly as you are. ✨

💜 This is our why 💜

This beautiful photo was taken during Lucy’s pregnancy with Ellie. A moment full of hope, excitement and lots of plans for the future.

During Lucy’s pregnancy with Ellie, she and Rick attended a birth relaxation course and prepared for a calm, empowered birth. Up until the 20-week scan, everything was going well.

Then everything changed.

Ellie was diagnosed with a severe heart condition and, heartbreakingly, it became clear she wouldn’t survive after birth. After many weeks on an emotional rollercoaster, Ellie was born on May 12th, surrounded by love.

Lucy was working as a nurse in community mental health at the time and had trained in a range of holistic therapies, including relaxation and meditation. Those tools, alongside the birth relaxation techniques they had learned, became a lifeline during Ellie’s birth.

In the months that followed, Lucy kept being pulled back to one thought:
Too many families are having to give birth to babies who have died, without guidance, without emotional preparation, and without holistic support.

✨ Ellie’s Gift was created so no family has to walk that path alone. ✨

The Ellie’s Gift App brings together gentle relaxation techniques, guided audio, birth planning tools and practical resources to support families preparing to birth a baby that has died — created by someone who has lived it.

This is Ellie’s gift to the world ✨

We know how hard it can be to pack a hospital bag after receiving devastating news in pregnancy.

We asked our community of parents who have experienced baby loss what they suggest popping into your bag, and they kindly shared these suggestions 💜

Within our Ellie’s Gift App we have a downloadable packing list to help make packing your bag a little bit easier, you’ll find it ‘What to take to hospital’ within the Birth Preparation section of the app.

Congratulations Lucy! 👏🏻

You may not be aware, but alongside running Ellie’s Gift, Lucy has also been busy studying for degree in Occupational Therapy.

We are delighted to share with you that for her next Occupational Therapy placement as part of this degree, she will be working on the Swan Unit at Blackpool Hospital, supporting bereaved families.

This opportunity is incredibly meaningful, enabling Lucy to bring together her lived experience, her background in mental health nursing, and her growing passion for Occupational Therapy.

With the support of the University of Central Lancashire, she will be exploring compassionate and innovative ways OT can support individuals and families through bereavement, particularly around identity, routine, self-care, and mental and physical wellbeing.

Lucy said,
“I feel very lucky to have been given this opportunity and trusted to take this forward. Who knows where it could go? I truly love innovation and being bold when it comes to life, especially when it has the potential to make a real difference. I am feeling a mix of emotions but most of all proud.”

We wish Lucy the best of luck of her placement, which she will be completing alongside all the wonderful support she provides for families at Ellie’s Gift. 💜

Today, Lucy joined BBC Radio 5 Live’s ‘That Time of the Month’ show to take part in an important, incredibly moving and compassionate conversation about terminating a pregnancy for medical reasons (TFMR).

Alongside presenter , doctors & , fellow parents Emma, Sarah & Jim and Hayley, Lucy shared her experience of losing Ellie following antenatal testing and how her loss led to the creation of Ellie’s Gift.

TFMR is the ending of what is often a deeply wanted pregnancy due to foetal anomalies, maternal health concerns or results from antenatal screening. It’s a reality many families never expect to face, and one that is still too often met with silence and misunderstanding.

At Ellie’s Gift, we exist to support parents through the loss of their baby and the experiences afterwards. Our support includes The Ellie’s Gift app which gives you 24/7 access to a range of baby loss support information to help you prepare for the delivery of your baby. We’re here for you for the moment everything in your pregnancy changes.

If today’s discussion brings up difficult feelings, please know you are not alone. We’re here for you and support is available via our website ellies.gift 💜

Huge thank you to and the team at for inviting us into this conversation today.

Relax With Lucy & Co

Relax with Lucy & Co was set up in 2017 by Lucy who is a Mental Health Nurse & Well-being Practitioner. We are a not for profit organisation and our mission is to improve the wellbeing of individuals during the antenatal and postnatal period. We aim to empower individuals, enabling them to feel happier and healthier through the application of wellbeing based interventions.

Lucy (top middle)- Lucy is the founder of Relax with Lucy & Co, a mental health nurse & well-being practitioner. She teaches meditation, mindfulness and hypnobirthing. Lucy’s first interest in well-being developed some years ago when she experienced anxiety first-hand and she wanted to seek out ways in which to help herself feel calmer. It was through her own self discovery that Lucy went onto complete additional training to be able to teach people to find a sense of calm and balance. Lucy is able to do this through her work as a nurse, birth worker and meditation instructor. Lucy is warm, caring, compassionate and continues to learn and develop.

Michelle (top left) – Michelle has a background in holistic therapy and has a strong passion for the promotion of well-being. Over recent years she has completed various training courses and works as a reflexologist, reiki practitioner and breast feeding support worker alongside her role at Relax with Lucy & Co. She continues to develop her own knowledge in the world of mindfulness & meditation which has been transformative for her and uses her knowledge and expertise when working with people from all different backgrounds. Michelle is empathetic, caring and compassionate and her passion is strong for helping others. She uses her own life experience both on a personal and professional level when working with people which really enables her to relate and connect on a deeper level.

Rachel (top right) – Rachel works as a holistic therapist alongside her role at Relax with Lucy & Co.Her journey into the holistic world has helped guide Rachel towards the benefits of meditation. She has felt a natural calling towards mindfulness from an early age and holds a passion for meditation and all things well being. Rachel has undergone further training to teach meditation and continues to deepen her knowledge around meditation and mindfulness, ensuring she is deepening her own practice. Rachel’s dedication towards her own well-being as well as the well-being of others, really shines through when she is working with people from various backgrounds. She is genuinely lovely, caring and accepting of anyone. She has a natural ability when connecting with others and helping them is her true goal.
