Sometimes in life everything can get on top of you such as financial insecurity, work pressure, family dynamics, the list is endless and it can all feel overwhelming. Self preservation is part of our natural instinct, which for some means to hide away, isolate ourselves from the ones we love, our friends and wider community, in the hope our pressures will disappear. Some days answering the phone, messages or emails may seem like a simple task but in reality is too much to cope with so we ignore and hope the calls and messages will go away. Which can ultimately lead to a deeper pit of loneliness and worry, worrying about how those people will treat you for ignoring them. I understand these feelings all to well. Be kind and patient with yourself. It’s ok to take time for yourself. Self care is so important, putting yourself first isn’t selfish, find the things in life that you enjoy, practicing self care daily will help calm your soul allowing you to heal and grow, but don’t isolate yourself for too long, reach out to those who love you at times when life seems too overwhelming, no one should suffer alone. You are never alone.

Sometimes we don’t get the recognition we feel we deserve for all the hard work and this could be simply just showing up which can be tough. Be proud of yourself always, even when you feel your best isn’t enough

Anxiety can be crippling, recognise the signs and take time to look after yourself as you would with any other illness. In life we face so many demands and pressures ranging from financial, work, and family, that we can forget to put ourselves and our health first. There is nothing selfish in putting yourself first. Your health and happiness is priority. To be there for others we have to look after ourselves first.

📣We’re now putting it out there for those men who need to talk about their mental health issues to contact us. 📣

Rather than continuing with groups, we are now offering a one to one listening service to enable you to talk openly without any fear or concern about others being present. 💬

One thing we hear a lot of is that some men are embarrassed, unsure or afraid to open up about themselves and their feelings in a group environment. So, although is not a counselling session we can offer a listening service face to face if you feel it’s something that could help. ‼️

We cant resolve your issues but we can make time to engage in conversation and possibly signpost you on to the relevant professionals if necessary. But, sometimes just being listened to is useful enough in order to feel less isolated or confused about a particular issue.🆘

This is totally free and although our availability may be limited we’ll do our best to be there for you to talk to in confidence.

Alternatively, we do have a counselling service available offer CBT (cognitive behavioural therapy) so please check out the website to explore further of what this can offer, along with fees and benefits of such therapy can offer https://rptcounselling.co.uk/

Don’t forget we also have our ladies Women-Talk.UK groups, run and attended by women only 👍🏼
