Sometimes in life everything can get on top of you such as financial insecurity, work pressure, family dynamics, the list is endless and it can all feel overwhelming. Self preservation is part of our natural instinct, which for some means to hide away, isolate ourselves from the ones we love, our friends and wider community, in the hope our pressures will disappear. Some days answering the phone, messages or emails may seem like a simple task but in reality is too much to cope with so we ignore and hope the calls and messages will go away. Which can ultimately lead to a deeper pit of loneliness and worry, worrying about how those people will treat you for ignoring them. I understand these feelings all to well. Be kind and patient with yourself. It’s ok to take time for yourself. Self care is so important, putting yourself first isn’t selfish, find the things in life that you enjoy, practicing self care daily will help calm your soul allowing you to heal and grow, but don’t isolate yourself for too long, reach out to those who love you at times when life seems too overwhelming, no one should suffer alone. You are never alone.
