We often get asked… do you offer direct funerals?

Yes — we do.
But we do things differently.

With us, every loved one comes back into our care. Families are given the time and space in our chapel of rest to say a proper goodbye.

We also provide meaningful keepsakes, including a lock of hair and a digital fingerprint — something truly personal to hold onto.

We believe many services advertised online don’t always show the full picture. We are a local, independent funeral director, and we care for every person as if they were our own family.

Because even the simplest service should still be done with care, dignity, and heart. 🤍

This weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the SAIF AGM, where we met with fellow funeral directors and suppliers from across the country.

It was a great opportunity to share ideas, discuss how the funeral profession is evolving, and learn more about the changes shaping the future of our industry.

Over the last couple of weeks we’ve been making some lovely changes to our funeral home.

We’ve always wanted it to feel modern, welcoming and comforting from the moment you walk through the door, so we decided it was time for a complete freshen up. We have had some wonderful feedback from families who have visited recently, which means a lot to us. 💙

People often comment on how clean and well presented our funeral cars are, but for us it’s important that everything reflects the same standard. A tidy, clean and welcoming environment is something we truly believe in.

Today many people will be spending Mother’s Day with their Mum.
But for many families, today is a day where they would give anything for just one more hug, one more conversation, one more day.

They say when you see a butterfly pass by, or a robin sitting in your garden, it could be a little sign from someone you love saying I’m still with you.

If you are missing your Mum today, please leave a ❤️ or a message in her memory so we can remember all the amazing Mums who are no longer with us but will never be forgotten.

🐒 A Little Thought for Today 🐒

You may have seen the story online about a little monkey who was being bullied by the others. What started as something sad has now gone massive, with people all over the world standing up for it, sharing kindness, and reminding each other that bullying is never okay.

It got me thinking… whether you’re a monkey or a human, the feeling is the same. Words hurt. Being left out hurts. And sometimes we never know what someone else is carrying behind their smile.

Let’s take this as a reminder to be kind.
To check in on each other.
To choose compassion over judgement.

A small act of kindness can make a huge difference 🤍

Our Bereavement Café is open this Friday, and everyone is welcome.

If you’ve lost someone, or you simply feel like you’d benefit from a friendly chat, please come along. There’s no pressure and no expectations just a safe, relaxed space to talk.

We are truly honoured to look after so many families within our community 🤍

Our Island doesn’t always get the best name, but one thing it never falls short on is its people. Time and time again, we see the community come together to support families at their hardest moments.

Seeing so many gather to pay their respects at funerals is incredibly moving and a reminder of the kindness, respect and togetherness that still runs strong here.

It’s a privilege to serve such a caring community. Thank you for the trust you place in us.
