A wonderful review from a micro-needling and facial acupuncture patient:

I can highly recommend Hannah and her treatments, both micro-needling and facial acupuncture.
If you want to try something to stimulate your own collagen then a combination of these two treatments is a must.
I am so impressed with the results. They have certainly improved the plumpness of my skin , reduced fine lines, reduced enlarged pores and even given a lift.
After only one treatment of facial acupuncture it cured my dry eye condition which is incredible.
A huge thank you to Hannah x

Headaches? Would you like to know if Acupuncture can help?

Here is a blog post from a patient to show how some people journey goes.

I Started getting headaches back in summer 2023. Nothing major at first—just frequent, mild headaches. I brushed it off as part of a busy lifestyle and carried on like normal.

By August 2024, they hadn’t gone away. I went to the doctor and was told to manage it with paracetamol and ibuprofen when needed. No real answers, just “one of those things.”

I started looking into everything myself. I went to the opticians, checked my prescription, had scans, switched to contact lenses… still no change.

So I tried to fix it from the inside out:
• kept a headache diary
• changed my diet
• reduced strong smells/perfumes
• improved my sleep routine
• added vitamins

I did everything I could think of… but nothing worked.

By April 2025, I went back again. All my stats were “normal” (aside from low blood pressure due to being active). I was told to stop taking the combined pill as it can sometimes cause headaches—and to come back if things didn’t improve.

They didn’t.

By July 2025, things had escalated. The headaches were more intense, more frequent, and harder to ignore. I finally got referred to neurology… only to be told the waiting list was 18 months.

That period was honestly one of the hardest.

I was waking up every single day with a headache.
Trying to work in a classroom environment felt unbearable at times.
Exercise—something I love—became a trigger.
Some headaches lasted up to 22 days without a break.
I was even waking up in the night from the pain.

In September, I went back again, desperate for something to help while waiting. I was sent for a CT scan.

October 2025—finally, an answer.

Chronic sinusitis.

I was given a steroid spray for 8 weeks… but still no improvement. Then prescribed daily medication and referred to ENT.

Around that time, I decided to try something different.

Acupuncture.

Weekly sessions, along with massages to relieve tension in my upper back and neck—and honestly, it changed everything.

For the first time in a long time, I felt relief.
I felt like myself again.

It wasn’t just the treatment—it was feeling listened to, supported, and given a different approach when nothing else had worked.

Fast forward to February 2026… I’m finally clear. 🙌
No more daily headaches. No more constant pain. Just the occasional normal headache when I’m unwell.

This whole experience taught me a lot:
Listen to your body.
Advocate for yourself.
And don’t be afraid to explore different options when something isn’t working.

If you’re going through something similar—keep going. There *is* a way through, even when it feels never-ending. 🤍

Some great coverage of how acupuncture can help with chronic fatigue and pain in the media

Acupuncture gets a great write up in this week's edition of Chat Magazine, in an article featuring a patient of BAcC acupuncturist Sahar Hooti from AcuCare Clinic International. Sahar's patient Leanne Curran from Portsmouth, explained how traditional acupuncture helped her get her life back after struggling with chronic fatigue and pain as a result of ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis). According to the ME Association, over 400,000 people in the UK are currently living with ME, and with over 1 million people reporting symptoms of chronic fatigue as a result of Long Covid, that number is steadily increasing. The article recommends that if you would like to try acupuncture to help manage symptoms for ME, or for any health concern, you can find your nearest BAcC registered, and PSA accredited acupuncturist here https://acupuncture.org.uk/find-an-acupuncturist/

Some excellent information here from Sahar on Sp6. As many of my menopausal patients will know. This point is excellent for menopausal health but is also useful in menstrual issues and fertility.

For acupuncture awareness week I am sharing a series of real patient experiences on what acupuncture has meant for them:

I'm Michael. I've been asked to share my experience of acupuncture.

About twenty five years ago I had severe arthritis in my thumb joint. I had cortisone injections for a while which helped but as a side effect I suffered from skin thinning. My specialist suggested discontinuing the treatment and recommended a replacement joint. I was booked in for surgery but before I had surgery a family member suggested trying acupuncture.

I had weekly treatments for about four months. Within a few weeks I was pain free, no longer crying in pain when I changed gear in my car and now after all those years I am pain free with full movement in the joint.

I have returned to having treatments again to help with my anxiety and my acupuncturist has suggested treatment to lower my blood pressure, so I am giving that a try. I'm 74 years of age.

Acupuncture for Menopause symptoms

Acupuncture is increasingly recognized as a supportive therapy for managing menopause symptoms.

During menopause, hormonal fluctuations—particularly the decline in estrogen—can lead to a range of uncomfortable symptoms like hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, insomnia, and fatigue.

Acupuncture, a traditional Chinese medicine practice, involves inserting thin needles into specific points on the body to stimulate energy flow, or "qi."

Several studies have shown that acupuncture can be particularly effective in reducing the frequency and severity of hot flashes and improving sleep quality.
Additionally, by influencing the autonomic nervous system, acupuncture may help stabilize mood and alleviate anxiety or depression often associated with menopause. While it’s not a replacement for conventional medical treatment, acupuncture offers a natural, low-risk option for women seeking relief from menopausal symptoms, especially those looking to avoid or supplement hormone replacement therapy (HRT).
