Due to taking some time off in September my waiting times are currently longer than usual. My clinic appointments are currently a four week wait and my home visits are between 6 and 8 weeks depending on location. Please bare this in my when making appointments and do not leave it to the last minute to ring.
If I continue to have such long wait times for my home visits, I will need to close my books to them as I need to be able to prioritise my regular customers.
Thank as always for your continued custom and support it really is appreciated.

Hello, I would just like to clarify things after yesterdays announcement. As healthcare i am able to remain open. The criteria that you need to meet in order to have an appointment however has become stricter.

I can not currently see you for routine nail trimmings. I can only see you if it is a medical need. This may include pain painful feet caused by ingrown toe nails or severe corns and calluses. It may also include if your feet are high risk due to diabetes or vascular issues and you need regular footcare to prevent health problems arising. I can in no circumstances see you for cosmetic reasons.
If you have an appointment I will be contacting you before the appointment to carry out your assessment. This will include a discussion of what your footcare needs are as well as your medical history and how vulnerable you are to the virus. I am prioritizing these calls on who has their appointments soonest. If however your appointment is later in the week or month but you are feeling anxious and would like to know what is happening please feel free to ring me or the clinic.

I will of course continue with strict PPE and infection control procedures. This is a difficult time for everyone and things keep changing on a very regular basis. If the legislation changes again I will update you on what will be happening next.

I am aware that some of you are struggling with the social isolation. If you do not think you meet the requirements for your footcare appointment but would still like a chat please let me know and we can keep in regular contact through the phone.

Foot care is considered an essential service and will therefore carry on in tier four.

I will continue to wear full ppe. I have tested since working at the hospital to ensure I am negative and today I had my first vaccination.
I am doing everything I can to ensure I keep you safe. Please please let me know if you have any symptoms or come into contact with anybody that is positive so that I can re arrange your appointment.

Thank you for your continued support during this difficult time. I can not tell you just how much I appreciate it. Happy New year to you all.

Covid-19 update

As from the 1st of June I will be able to carry out urgent foot care appointments.

Who counts as urgent?
Even with PPE and increased infection control procedures there is still a risk of covid-19. Therefore it is still not safe for me to perform routine toe nail cuts. However it has been deemed by our supporting council and insurance that certain foot conditions are just as high risk to a patient if left untreated. This can include patients with vascular impairment, diabetic patients or people with painful conditions ( such as corns, calluses and ingrown toenails) that is limiting their mobility. This does how ever need to be weighed up with the patients other medical conditions and how vulnerable they will be if catching covid-19. When ringing to arrange any appointment a thorough assessment and discussion will be had with the patient to ensure that a personal and professional decision can be made for each patient.

Why 1st June and not now ?
Having returned to the NHS to work as a nurse during the lockdown I need to isolate for two weeks before coming out to see anyone because I had contact with covid-19 positive patients.
It is also taking some time to arrange safe working procedures and source PPE to ensure safety for patients.

How can an appointment be made?
I will be contacting my regular clients over the next two weeks in order to discuss their conditions and prioritise who needs to be seen. Please understand that there are a lot of patients for me to ring as nobody has had an appointment for weeks. I will contact all of my regulars in time. However if you feel your feet are in very bad condition please feel free to private message me on here or ring me for me to assess your need.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding in this difficult time.
