Health Education Sessions:

Have you recently been diagnosed with pre-diabetes or type 2 diabetes?

We have recently started running some health education sessions at Birley Health Centre to help people to understand more about this and help to manage this a bit better through diet and lifestyle.

The sessions will be running 3 consecutive weeks during the month and depending on numbers there will be a new lot of sessions starting each month. The first course will be starting on 15th June at 1.30pm.

If this is of interest, please contact reception and we can pass on your details.

Please see below information from STHFT on availability of urgent and emergency care services during the affected period:

The Royal Hallamshire Hospital Minor Injuries Unit (MIU) will be closed between the 11th and 14th inclusive. They will work out of the Fracture Clinic space.

Bank Holiday Friday 7th April – Closed
Saturday and Sunday 8th and 9th April – Open
Bank Holiday Monday 10th April – Closed
Tuesday 11th to 14th April inclusive for the Industrial Action – Closed
Saturday and Sunday 15th and 16th April – Open and then onwards.

When closed, the clinical workforce will support the Acute Medical Unit (AMU).

NGH A&E will be open as usual but we will likely have (depending on the number of Junior Drs who choose to strike) significantly reduced numbers of clinical staff working.

Patients can also be directed to the Urgent Care & Healthier Together webpages for additional advice and support:
