🌸 Social Gardening Club. 🌸

We’re starting another round of ‘Social Gardening Club’ at Broomhill library:

Wednesday 5th March. 1030-12.00

This is a great way for people to gain confidence in the garden and get out and about in the community and make new friends.

(We are based inside the library until the weather improves doing a wide range of activities- garden & floristry related).

Come along but please book your spot as spaces are limited.

All welcome. This is a relaxed, friendly group. 🌸🌱🌸 … suited to beginners. No previous experience necessary.

After nearly 8 days of snow fully covering our garden and being pretty much house bound the sun has come out and it’s now 10 degrees! I’ve popped out to assess the garden damage and let the hens out, for a much needed leg stretch and wild forage.

I’m so excited that the hellabores have survived and the daffodils are coming up nicely, undeterred by the snow.

0h, and most interestingly I found three semi-frozen owl pellets - they’re not very photogenic, trust me.

☀️roll on spring time! 🌼🌷🌼

It’s been a super busy few days with lots of wreath making workshops. And wonderful meeting so many lovely people and seeing friends old & new.

I love using all British foliage ( much of which I gather from my friend’s farm
on the Welsh border) & moss, also from sustainable Welsh sources.

🎄There are so many talented people out there who have hidden creative talents - turning out stunning wreath creations. Keep going- and adding to your living wreaths.

🎄Thank you to everyone who has attended our workshops.

🎄It’s nearly time for our hands to have a well rested break from twisting twine & cutting greenery. But we will be busy planning workshops for 2025… and catching up on very overdue bulb planting. Ops! 🌼🌷

Celebration day! World Therapeutic Horticulture Day…

I love working in all green settings to help improve people’s well being, including my own.

My work as a Social & Therapeutic Horticultural practitioner is so varied from week to week. My clients range from a hospice, a care home, to private elderly clients in their own homes, clients with dementia to working alongside clients who are super busy & struggle to find the mojo to garden by themselves oh and a little bit of garden design & planting on & running a few workshops. All green.

Every week is different & I’m continuously learning. I love the people I work with & hand on heart everyone I work with in a green space is better for having spent time outdoors or interacting with nature.

I meet some awe inspiring people in my role all so generous with their time & knowledge. Thank you each & everyone of you.

I’m spending my day today celebrating my love for wildlife gardening, in my own little corner of green heaven & sowing some seeds.

How are you celebrating?

We just love working with British grown tulips- so fresh, so colourful & grown less than 100 miles away.

A fun day of workshops with some lovely people. Laughter, concentration & learning new skills.
