We know it’s not always β€˜back to normal’ when you finish hospital treatment for primary breast cancer. Coping with the shock of a diagnosis, treatment and side effects, and worries about recurrence can make it difficult to readjust to the everyday. πŸ’—

That’s why Moving Forward is here. Through supportive, open conversations in a safe, confidential space, you’ll connect with people who understand. And you’ll find the tools you need to feel more empowered, confident and in controlβ€”ready to move forward with your life.

Our Moving Forward courses run over two half-day sessions on consecutive weeks. Groups are kept small, with no more than 12–15 people attending. Each course has a Q&A session with one of our healthcare professionals, an expert facilitator, as well as our trained volunteers. Moving Forward is supported by our Journal and online platform which means you can find the answers to the questions that are important to you.

You can attend Moving Forward either at our face-to-face or online courses. Find a course near you or register for an online course at Moving Forward, or call 0345 077 1893. πŸ“ž

🧠πŸ’₯ What is Rheumatoid Arthritis? Professor David Scott, Consultant Rheumatologist, explains it clearly:

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune condition that primarily affects the joints - especially in the hands and feet πŸ™ŒπŸ¦Ά. It can cause pain, swelling, stiffness, and fatigue, and it can deeply impact daily life πŸ˜“

But here’s the good news - with the right treatment and support, RA doesn’t have to define you. You can still work, stay active, and live well πŸ’ͺ🌈

πŸ§ πŸ’¬ This World Mental Health Day, let’s take a moment to check in on each other - a simple conversation can make a world of difference 🌍❀️

Here’s how to support someone who might be struggling:
1️⃣ Find a quiet space with no distractions - be fully present 🀝
2️⃣ Listen without interrupting and ask thoughtful questions πŸ‘‚β“
3️⃣ Ask how you can help - it might be booking a GP appointment, helping with chores, or just being there 🫢

πŸ“± Remember: social media isn’t always real.
Feeling low? It’s OK to log off. It’s OK to not be OK all the time.
Less screen time = more time to breathe, reflect, and reset πŸŒΏπŸ’š

πŸ’‘ Mental health matters every day.
Small actions = BIG impact.

🍹❌ Feeling like it’s time for a reset? Sober October is your chance to take a break from alcohol, boost your health πŸ’ͺ, sleep better 😴, save money πŸ’·, AND raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support πŸŽ—οΈπŸ’š

Whether you're doing it for your body, your mind, or someone you love - it’s the perfect excuse to say no thanks to that drink and yes to a better you 🌟🧠

⚠️ Be careful of slipping into drinking more than usual - especially once October ends.
If you have a long-term condition, alcohol can interfere with your medication πŸ’Š and make symptoms worse.

Try to build healthy habits that last:
βœ… Make alcohol-free days a regular thing
βœ… Know your limits
βœ… Reach out for support if you're struggling
