Today, our 2-year-olds got creative making frogspawn using bubble wrap 🫧🎨 We talked about how our tadpoles came from frogspawn all those weeks ago and just how big they’ve grown! 🐸

Having tadpoles in our setting has been such a special experience. It’s been wonderful watching the children learn about life cycles while growing a love and respect for living creatures and the world around them 🌍✨

It’s all part of our Willowtree ethos 🌿 learning about the natural world through hands-on experiences and inspiring the next generation to care for and protect it 💚

We feel so lucky to have had them, and we’ll be a little sad to see them return to their pond in a few weeks!

The soft tinkles of cello and violin have been bouncing through the trees recently 🎻

The children have been exploring these beautiful instruments, taking turns and listening to the calming, dreamy sounds.

👋🏼 Little Hands, Big Creations & Sweet Moments 🍪

The children have been baking up a storm this week, carefully mixing, shaping, and of course decorating with lots of colourful spring sprinkles 🍪✨ There was so much focus, teamwork, and excitement in the air!

We couldn’t help but notice that listening ears were especially good… funny how that happens when sprinkles are involved! 👂😂

✨ You may have spotted some lovely new faces around nursery lately! ✨

We’re so happy to welcome Nina and Tansy to our baby room team, as we expand and welcome some new babies throughout spring 💕

They’ve settled in beautifully already and are quickly becoming firm favourites with the children. You’ll see them spending time across both rooms while they get to know everyone 😊

We’re also delighted to have Debbie joining us as our cook while we cover maternity leave, until Autumn 🍂 She’s been absolutely amazing and has taken to kitchen life like a natural! 👩‍🍳✨

🐸✨ Tadpole Adventures at Willowtree! ✨🐸

Everyone has been fascinated by our newest members, watching our frog spawn gently bob around, and we were so excited to see the tiny tadpoles hatch this week!

The children noticed how long their tails are and how quickly they dart around their tank, it’s been amazing to see their curiosity grow each day.

We’ve been enjoying lots of lovely books about frogs 📚💚, and the excitement is contagious… the children can’t stop talking about them! They’re even running in at drop-off, eager to spot what’s changed overnight 👀

Such a magical learning experience! 🌿💫

🌱🥪 From Seed to Sandwich! 🥪🌱

During science week week the children planted cress seeds and have enjoyed watching them grow 🌿👀

As part of their learning about the natural world, they explored where our food comes from and how it reaches our plates, something we’re lucky to see all around us in our local farming community! 🚜🌾

The highlight? Harvesting their cress and using it to make their very own egg mayo & cress sandwiches for tea - yum! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

A simple activity, but such a powerful way to connect learning, nature, and the food we eat 💚😋
