As most young people are preparing to go return to school, feelings of anxiety and worry may start to emerge. Here are a few tips to help your young person to prepare for this transition;

Begin to adjust bed time/waking up time if this has shifted over the school holidays. This can be a gradual process, altering even 30 minutes each day until back to usual times

Do the walk to or from school (if local enough)Familiarising your young person with the surroundings can help to remind them of where they will be going and that this will be part of their routine

Look at photos of their friends/peers together. Reminders of who they will be spending time with and even reaching out to make contact with some of these people can help to ease social anxiety around returning to school

Have a visual calendar to prepare for how many days/weeks they have left of the holidays
