How to Use Vi’s Locking Wire Drill Guides: For Temporary Fixation and Plate Control 🦴

Vi’s locking wire drill guides are designed to screw directly into a locking plate, allowing precise K-wire placement for temporary fixation and plate manipulation during orthopaedic procedures. They’re particularly useful for stabilising the plate against the bone or assisting with positioning during minimally invasive plate osteosynthesis (MIPO).

💡 How it works in practice:

1. Thread the guide into the plate
With the plate positioned, screw the guide into a locking hole using gentle but firm pressure to ensure it is fully seated and aligned.

2. Insert the K-wire
Pass the K-wire through the central channel of the guide and into the bone to the desired depth. This temporarily secures the plate in position.

3. Verify plate placement
With the K-wire in place, assess the position of the plate. The wire holds it against the bone, helping maintain alignment throughout the procedure.

4. Manipulate as needed
The guide can also be used to help adjust or control the plate during MIPO, especially in less accessible regions.

5. Proceed with fixation
Once the plate is correctly positioned and temporarily stabilised, proceed with drilling and screw placement as required.

Vi’s locking wire drill guides make it easier to control and stabilise the plate—reducing the risk of movement during positioning and fixation. A simple tool with real surgical value.

How to Use Vi’s Plate Holding Clip: For Organised, Efficient Plate Management 🧷

Vi’s plate holding clip is a simple tool designed to keep orthopaedic plates organised, whether in kit boxes or laid out on the sterile table. It can be sterilised , making it suitable for use in surgical environments. It helps group plates neatly together and allows for quick identification during procedures.

💡How it works in practice:

1. Group the plates
Stack or align the plates you want to keep together. The clips are available in different sizes, which correspond to the size of plates being kept together (for example, 2.0mm or 2.4mm). This size is etched on the clip for ease of identification.

2. Secure with the clip
Slide the plate holding clip over the aligned holes of the plates. The clip holds them firmly in place, preventing tangling or scattering.

3. Store or lay out
Use the clipped plates to keep kits tidy in storage or to lay out a clean, organised surgical field. The clip ensures plates remain easy to access and identify at a glance.

Vi’s plate holding clip supports efficient surgical prep and storage – reducing clutter, saving time, and making plate selection faster and easier when it matters most.
