Most of the results we achieve together in the studio are things you can feel more than you can see – reduced pain, freer movement, more confidence in your body. But every now and then the progress is really visible too.
This lovely client came to me after a serious fall from her horse which resulted in a fractured femur and surgery. Following the operation, her knee movement was extremely limited, and she was unable to bend it properly.
Through tailored physiotherapy sessions and consistent rehab, she’s made incredible progress – the difference in her movement was visible after each session.
Part of the work we’ve been doing goes beyond exercise. After surgery, the body naturally produces internal scar tissue as it heals. This tissue is often dense, less elastic, and can form adhesions that restrict normal movement. If left unmanaged, scar tissue can stiffen around the joint, leading not only to limited mobility but also to long-term issues such as pain, tension, or even pulling on the surrounding fascia and muscles — which can affect other areas of the body.
With the right manual therapy techniques — like soft tissue mobilization and myofascial release — we can help remodel the scar tissue, reduce stiffness, and restore tissue flexibility.
Recovery takes time, patience, and the right support, but the results are worth it. I’m so proud of her determination and commitment on this journey.
