Practise the Pause Button
Good morning beautiful souls,
As the title suggests, today is about practising the pause.
Over the weekend, I chose to focus on nothing more than being at home — with my girls — and enjoyed a wonderful visit from my friend Helen and her daughter Millie.
We spent the day baking, not just for ourselves but for the dogs too. We laughed, shared stories, and didn’t focus on what was happening in the outside world.
Yesterday, that same energy continued as I limited my time on social media, focused on cleaning the house, took a short dog walk (as my girls are now limited in what they can do), and finished the day with a beautiful healing Zoom session.
And yes — I even got to bed at a reasonable time!
This morning, I woke feeling peaceful.
I’m fully aware that right now, powerful energies are bombarding our planet — and as such, our own vessels too. So it’s important to honour self-care, however that shows up for you.
As I sit here, I notice the absolute stillness outside. And yet, in the background, there’s a faint sound of birds conversing — like messages on the wind.
It reminds me of the Birds card in my Lenormand deck.
How often do we truly stop to listen?
How often do we fill our time with noise — to avoid the deep thinking, or the constant humming many of us hear?
How often are we willing to sit with it — to let it flow through us — without judgement or frustration creeping in?
You see, silence doesn’t really exist.
You’ll never find a moment completely free of sound.
Think of it like this: your body is an electrically charged system, with every part playing a role to keep it running smoothly.
If you own a petrol car, you’ll recognise its hum.
If you drive an electric one, it’s quieter — but not silent.
To meditate, we must release the belief that it requires silence.
There will always be sound — outside and within.
But what we can learn is stillness.
Even just five or ten minutes can reconnect you to Source —
to that electrical current, that light, that vibration,
that frequency that brings you home to yourself.
Home — that sacred space where you can always practise the pause.
However you choose to embody it, remember:
you are unique in all your beingness.
Be still — not in silence, but in acceptance.
True mastery is recognising that everything has a purpose, a place, and a time.
And in the words of the song:
You are everything — and everything is you.
Have a beautiful day, everyone.
With love,
Karen ###
