One acupuncturist does allegedly though.

A patient reported to us that they had been to see an acupuncturist for the first time for help with a jaw problem. They put needles in Stomach 6, 7 and LI4. They then left them for 20 minutes, nothing unusual so far. The practitioner then rather unexpectedly “slapped” the patient across the face several times to their surprise!

The patient didn’t go back and was rather pleased to learn that this was something we don’t do.

We recommend that you should only see practitioners that are members of a professional organisation. We are members of the British Acupuncture Council and follow their code of practice.

Had my hip operation yesterday, all went well. At home and feeling surprisingly ok, am enjoying the pain meds!

I've got a posh titanium hip, lots of lego and a lovely husband. Soon to have massive bruises!

At Sheffield Community Acupuncture, we often talk about Yin and Yang—the fundamental concept in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) for understanding balance. Apologies, the Zest Centre has closed this morning with very late notice due to a structural problem with the building and the loss of water supply.

All appointments for today are being rescheduled.

Local road closures mean that finding a parking spot is a little bit more awkward than usual. There is still lots of free parking, you might have to drive around for a bit longer to get to it though...

An alternative is to catch the tram to the Infirmary Road stop from which we are only a five minute walk.
