This image is taken from our in clinic imaging, it shows a patient with a cataract.

A cataract is formed when the clear lens inside your eye becomes cloudy or misty. This is a natural process and usually happens as we get older. If you have a cataract you may notice your vision is less clear and distinct, colours may look different and become faded or yellow and you may experience some difficulty moving from shade to sunlit areas.

If you experience any of these symptoms we always advise you to make an appointment to see us for a check.
If necessary we would then refer you on for surgery to have the cloudy lens removed and replaced with a brand new one!

How beautiful is Rebecca modelling her brand new eyewear 😍

Rebecca went for the blue light coating on her lenses,
which is a special layer applied to your lenses. It helps block a portion of the blue light spectrum.

It is designed to reduce the amount of blue light which reaches the eye and can help reduce eye strain and improve visual comfort. Especially when using screens.

Lucas attended with his Nan Julie for his first eye experience, here with us at Olive Opticians.

His history, weak left eye, ADHD and Autism.

His nan tells us, that he normally hates eye tests and there was little cooperation in the past with anyone.

Today he was smiling and happy and we achieved great results together.

We discovered that he has some great vision in his left eye. He can use it better than what was previously thought.

What is blepharitis?

Blepharitis is an inflammation of your eyelids. It can make your eyelids red and sore, with crusting at the base of your eyelashes and your eyes could feel irrated or sore.
Symptoms tend to be worse in a morning and when you wake up.
