This feels like a bit of a turning point for me.

For a long time I’ve been working as a therapist, and more recently I’ve started stepping into teaching as well. This is my first project from that side.

I’ll be honest, recording myself and talking like this is very outside my comfort zone. I’m used to working quietly one to one, not being on camera.

But this is something I’ve been working on for a while now, and it feels like the right time to start sharing it.

A lot of it comes from my own experience, and also from what I see with other therapists.

It’s still in progress, I’m taking my time with it.

People often ask what Reiki actually is.
For me, it’s not something I try to explain too much.

It’s something I come back to when I need to slow down,
clear my head a bit, and reconnect with myself.

IMA educated Basic Massage Kate Puskas defended her Advanced Massage Teacher Project highly successfully today. The IMA has asked her to tell about herself:

Thank you for the opportunity to be part of this championship.

This was my first time judging, and I’m really grateful I got to experience it. It was a learning process not just for the participants, but for me as well.

I could see how much effort, courage and heart everyone put into their work, and that’s something I truly respect. For many, this felt like a stepping stone, and in a way, it was the same for me too.

Thank you for the trust and for including me in this experience.

When I moved to the UK, I wanted to build something for myself and create a better life. I started from nothing, and over time, through a lot of work and learning, I built my practice.

Now I work as a clinical sports therapist and run my own space, Get Up & Go Sports Therapy.

I don’t follow a fixed routine. Every treatment is different. I combine sports massage, deeper work and a more holistic approach, depending on what the person in front of me needs that day. I’ve trained in many massage modalities, including Thai massage, Beauty and Sound therapy, which I bring in where it feels right.

I’ve worked with people in pain, people dealing with stress, and people who simply need a space to switch off. What matters to me is that they feel safe, understood, and leave feeling different than when they arrived.

At one point, I decided to step outside of my comfort zone and compete. That experience changed how I see my work.

I became a gold medallist at both European and World Massage Championships, and was also recognised with a “Person of the Year” award. It helped me understand the level of attention, presence and quality this work can have.

I’m looking forward to being part of this year’s championship as a judge and to support the therapists who are stepping forward.

I’m really looking forward to being part of this event and supporting the therapists who are stepping forward to share their work.

Competitions like this take courage.
To show your technique, your presence, your way of working in front of others is not easy.

It’s always inspiring to see different styles, approaches and the level of dedication behind them.

Wishing all participants 🤞🏻

I’ve been doing massage for years, so I always felt confident in my work.

But when I had to put it into words and structure it for teaching… I realised it’s not as simple as I thought.

I’m preparing my defence now as part of an international advanced massage teacher course.

Becoming a teacher means going back to being a student.
Doing the work, studying, learning things in a different way.

Part of the journey.

There’s a lot that happens before you walk through the door.

I’ve always believed that how a space is prepared matters just as much as what happens in it.

For me, it’s about creating the right atmosphere from the very beginning.

The small things set the tone.

Some behind-the-scenes from my work.
Being a massage therapist isn’t just about the massage itself. There are many small things that go into it, often unseen.

I make and prepare parts of my setup myself because my treatments reflect who I am as a person.
How I work, what I value, the care I put into things.

It’s not just a service.
It’s my work, and it carries a part of me with it.

Sound has its own way of meeting us.
Sometimes it touches the body, sometimes the breath, sometimes something deeper that’s hard to name.

No two people receive it the same way, and no session ever repeats itself.
The space, the energy, the moment, all of it matters.

When you listen, where do you feel it first?

Behind every session is time, attention, and care.

I don’t work from routines or fixed sequences.
Each treatment is adapted to the body in front of me, using a blend of sports, deep tissue, and relaxation techniques, with supportive tools used where appropriate.

The space, the pace, and the approach are all designed to help the body settle and respond, whether the focus is recovery, ongoing tension, or simply time to slow down.

These images give a small glimpse into how I work and the environment I hold for my clients.
