This tragic story reminded me of why I do what I do and why creating Life Track Planners was such a personal step for me.
I knew Jamie's wife when we both did The Body Shop and even though we weren't close friends, knowing that Jamie's family had to watch whilst his health deteriorated hurt my heart. 😢
This story just goes to show the importance of advocating for yourself and your health. You don't have to take the first answer of the Doctor if you think they may be wrong. Don't be afraid to ask for a second opinion or wait for things to get worse before you ask again. There's a HUGE difference between being the person making a mountain out of a molehill and simply knowing that something isn't right with your own health, whether that's physical OR mental health.
I hope that the GP and the surgery involved have learnt some valuable lessons from this tragic death. Even if it had been something that had no cure, there may have been a better chance of survival or longer life at least, if it had been caught earlier.
If you think something is going on with your health that just isn't right.... write it down, make notes of your symptoms, talk to your doctor and keep talking until they listen.
If you need help, then use my free symptom tracker, because it has been designed so that people DON'T have to struggle or suffer un-necessarily. I'll put the link in the comments below.
And no..... this isn't just me drawing attention to my business by using someone else's tragic story. This is me knowing that sadly, this isn't an isolated incident. It happens every day across the country, and the world, and at the end of the day, I want this to happen less and less, because even if it isn't something as final as a brain tumor, your health is important and can affect your happiness and your daily life and anything I can do to help ONE person, will mean all the work I put in to it is worth it. 💙
Jamie began forgetting names, struggled to find the right words, and found understanding conversations increasingly difficult.
