We offer support, help, companionship, education and information for people living with diabetes.

Please share - Notification of SDUK’s Next Meeting 17 July 2025 at 7.00pm - “ Research Update”.

Our speaker at the next meeting is Professor Simon Heller. Simon is one of our regular speakers. He is the National Health Research Lead in, Professor of and Consultant in Diabetes. He is an excellent and very knowledgeable speaker.

This meeting is your chance to find out what's going on in various projects that are likely to make a big difference in the future. Simon will update us on the “Grand Challenge”. This is a project looking to understand and find out about Type 1 in the search for a cure. The study is funded by the Steve Morgan Foundation. Professor Heller chairs the research meetings where the Lead Researchers analyse the latest findings. He liaises with the Steve Morgan Foundation about the progress and goals achieved in the project.
Special Guests are:-
Dr Debasish Kar GP Sharrow Lane Medical Centre.
Dr Ning Ma - Lecturer in Medical Computing.
Dr Vitor CM Neves - Senior Clinical Lecturer - Honorary Consultant in Periodontology and Oliver Walmesley.
