(Sun Protection Factor) ☀️

These are the top three ingredients to look for in a sunscreen:

* Antioxidants, to help minimize UVA and UVB ray damage
* Low chemical sunscreen agents, to absorb the radiation from UV rays and neutralising their damage effect
* Reflectants, such as Titanium Dioxide or Zinc Oxide that reflects rays and scatter energy bouncing rays off the skin.

These are some harmful ingredients to avoid:

Important factors about the SPF (Sun Protection Factor) ☀️

Did you know that using a medium SPF rather than a high one minimizes exposure to harmful chemicals?

“Scientists do not recommend anything higher than SPF 15-20 because there is minimal advantage from the higher SPF. Stronger creams contain greater concentrations of sunscreen agent which turn into free radicals with exposure to UV rays” says Environ Skin Care founder, Dr Des Fernandes.

Free radicals are bad for the skin because they destabilize cells and can accelerate the ageing progress.
