Well done to the BOTS team who are back playing and improving each year 👏

The Bradfield led Under 15 Girls team “The BOTS” were in action for their first home game of the season. We were at Oughtibridge WMCC with Izzy on her home ground matching her best ever bowling figures. We kept Millhouses to 121 runs off 18 overs. With wickets to Izzy, Alicia, Alice and Betty. Also well done to Betty for the run out. With the Bat in reply we scored 116 for 2. With a retired score for Alice and big scores for Sophie H, Alicia and Sophie M. This is the 8th game we have played Millhouses and have never come closer than tonight, losing by just 5 runs. So every girl can be proud of their effort. Big thanks to Liz and Oughtibridge for hosting us, Lee and Dan for Umpiring and Ted and Pete for Scoring. Well done to Millhouses on a very close win.
Finally thanks to everyone for the support I hope everyone has got home and warmed up!!! The BOTS came from the following clubs: Thorncliffe & Wentworth Cricket Club Oughtibridge War Memorial Cricket Club Green Moor and Rockingham cricket clubs. The BOTS are sponsored by Hallamshire Physiotherapy Clinic and the Bradfield Juniors by: AssetGo The Schoolrooms The Bradfield Plough

For a long time, the "gold standard" for Ataxia management was focused on slow, steady balance and coordination exercises.

At Hallamshire Physiotherapy, we are keeping a close eye on evolving evidence suggesting that cardiovascular (aerobic) exercise might be doing more for the cerebellum than we previously thought.

New data suggests high-intensity aerobic training (reaching 65–85% of max heart rate) may actually improve SARA scores (Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia) more effectively than balance training alone.

Researchers are seeing that aerobic activity might support nerve cells in the cerebellum, which is a key part of the brain responsible for motor coordination.

The evidence is leaning toward the idea that cardiovascular fitness helps "lock in" functional gains, making it easier to maintain independence over the long term.

At Hallamshire Physiotherapy Clinic we can support you in integrating safe aerobic protocols such as steps ups or exercises bikes into your rehab program.

It’s MS Awareness Week 💙

At Hallamshire Physiotherapy Clinic, we’re proud to support the fantastic work of the MS Therapy Centre in Catcliffe.

The centre provides a unique environment for people living with Multiple Sclerosis, including access to on-site oxygen therapy within a specialist chamber, alongside a large, well-equipped neuro physiotherapy space. With features such as parallel bars, a Bobath plinth, and a wide range of rehabilitation equipment, it offers the ideal setting for tailored, hands-on care.

We’re passionate about working alongside services like this to ensure individuals with MS have access to the support, facilities, and expertise they need to maintain mobility, independence, and quality of life.

Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing more information on how physiotherapy and specialist environments can make a real difference.
