It’s been so lovely to be back catching up with everyone at The Archer Project at Sheffield Cathedral.
Such a special place, doing incredible work to support people experiencing homelessness.

It’s easy to forget how much goes on behind the scenes — from providing hot meals and a safe space, to offering a shower, a clean pair of socks, or some warm gloves. All those simple comforts that many of us take for granted every day.

When we arrive with the ponies, the whole place seems to pause. For a little while, the focus shifts to soft noses, gentle cuddles, and quiet chats — conversations that bring smiles and warmth in the middle of a busy day.

If we at Smile Pony Therapies can make even the smallest difference — helping someone feel a little calmer, a little happier, or simply seen — then every bit of the hard work over the past six months getting back up and running has been worth it.

A huge thank you to everyone who has donated and supported us in getting the ponies back out on visits — we truly couldn’t do it without you.

The Archer Project is always in need of donations. They even have an Amazon Wishlist where you can gift simple but essential items like food , new underwear or even gloves and hats now the weather has turned cold .

Remember — gifting forward is a small act kindness that makes a big difference, and it’s something each of us can do. 💛🐴

Something a little different for the team today ,
We have had a visit from Rose , Gethin , Will , Milly , Faye Students from the university of Sheffield who are doing
Studies in MA Journalism and MA Broadcasting.
The interview was part of their course work .
They got to interact with our 2 special ponies and We were interviewed on our journey with Smile ponies and all about the go fund me page and how I’m working hard to keep the ponies going out doing their amazing work out on their visits .
It was nice to be able to give a big shout out to all the amazing people that have donated and helped get us get back up and running and getting us back out doing their amazing great work 🤩

A lovely visit to Housteads residential home ,
Just Harry out today and he was an absolute legend getting all the attention for himself , we got to talk to a lady who was a land girl , I loved hearing how horses worked so hard for her and the ladies in fields back in the war ,
One gentleman was saying how ponies like Harry played and big part down the pit where he’d worked ,

And lastly We can’t thank liesl enough for coming to our rescue and getting us out while our transport is off the road 😍

Gosh you really know who your friends are when things go wrong.

I can’t thank everyone enough who’s been in touch offering transport for the ponies, so we don’t have to stop going out on our special visits .
So we can borrow transport and still go on the visits booked in 🤩.

You are all diamonds and I can’t thank you all enough for being there for me and the boys 💙💛.

The little red van is very important and special because when we had it built specifically a small compact van that can get in and park safely in the tight carparks that are just designed for cars .
And trust me we’ve had some challenges over the years to make everything safe for the ponies more importantly to unload and load .

If only the ponies knew how special they are and the amazing work they do that helps make so much difference to everyone they meet .

The power of 2 special ponies 🤩
Today we had a lovely visit to Eagle house in Sheffield.
One chap asked if Harry was alive as he was that still as he couldn’t see how a pony could be in the house.
I just love the questions that we get asked 🥰and the interaction.
The ponies even managed to get some of the residents outside for some fresh air 😁they loved been in charge of walking them around

Harry and Leo: The Little Ponies with Big Hearts

In the heart of the rolling countryside lived two very special Shetland ponies named Harry and Leo. With their glossy coats, bright eyes, and fluffy manes, they looked like they’d stepped straight out of a storybook. But it wasn’t their looks that made them special—it was their job.

Harry was calm and wise, with a gentle soul that could melt the hardest heart. Leo, smaller but sprightly, had a cheeky twinkle in his eye and loved to make people laugh with his little tricks. Together, they were more than just ponies—they were therapy ponies, trained to bring love, laughter, and healing to people who needed it most.

Every week, Harry and Leo climbed into their cozy travel trailer, munching hay and nuzzling each other as they rode off to visit care homes and children’s residential homes. Wherever they went, magic followed.

At an elderly care home, the air would fill with joy as the ponies clip-clopped gently down the hallway. Residents’ faces lit up with delight. Some whispered stories of ponies they’d known in their youth. Others, who rarely spoke, reached out with trembling hands to stroke their soft fur. Harry would quietly rest his head in someone’s lap, offering a moment of peace and connection. Leo would nudge a hand for a treat or whinny softly, making everyone giggle.

In children’s homes, the atmosphere was full of excitement. Children ran to greet them, wrapping their arms around their furry necks. Leo loved to play peek-a-boo around doorways, while Harry stood still as a statue for a little one to brush his mane. One little boy who hadn’t smiled in weeks broke into laughter when Leo gently pulled off his hat and tossed it in the air.

The staff often said the ponies brought something magical—a sense of calm, of trust, of pure, unconditional love. But Harry and Leo didn’t know they were doing anything extraordinary. They just knew that their job was to share cuddles, warmth, and a bit of happiness.

At the end of each day, the ponies would return to their pasture, their hearts full from all the smiles and snuggles. And as the stars came out and the world grew quiet, Harry and Leo would rest side by side, dreaming of the next place they’d bring their special kind of magic.

Because sometimes, the smallest ponies make the biggest difference.
