CCSV brings a different approach to ventilation during resuscitation.

Chest Compression Synchronised Ventilation is designed to support effective gas exchange and perfusion without interrupting chest compressions.

By delivering a pressure‑controlled breath in sync with each compression, CCSV integrates into the resuscitation process while remaining compatible with common compression devices and manual CPR.

Clinical studies show trends towards improved arterial oxygenation and higher ROSC rates, while user feedback highlights strong practical acceptance in real‑world settings.

For emergency services and hospital teams, CCSV offers an innovative addition to current resuscitation strategy.

Last week we had the privilege of welcoming Yorkshire Air Ambulance again to our Customer Experience Centre at Ortus house, where Dr. Jon Barratt led an in-depth SPEAR Course.

SPEAR (SPecialist Endovascular Advanced Resuscitation) is a highly advanced intervention used in select cardiac arrest cases. The procedure involves inserting a needle into the femoral arteries to monitor blood pressure on a beat-by-beat basis, giving clinicians vital real-time data during resuscitation.

This technique enhances on-scene decision-making, ensures more accurate management of cardiac arrest, and provides real-time feedback on the quality of CPR helping maintain crucial blood flow to the brain and heart.

It’s one of the most technically demanding procedures undertaken in emergency medicine, performed even while chest compressions are ongoing.

A huge thank you to everyone who took part in today’s training and helped make the session a success.

Great to see our partnership with The ATACC Group in action this week.

As part of their SPEAR course, our Business Development Manager Curtis joined delegates for an intensive programme focused on high‑threat, high‑pressure pre‑hospital care. Throughout a range of challenging scenarios, corpuls3, corpuls cpr, Weinmann Meduvent, Weinmann ACCUVAC Pro and Clarius ultrasound were used exclusively supporting monitoring, resuscitation, airway management, ventilation, suction and ultrasound where performance and reliability are non‑negotiable.

In particular, corpuls cpr enabled a proven physiologically targeted approach to resuscitation, using real‑time feedback and monitoring to help clinicians optimise CPR delivery and clinical decision‑making - all with the ultimate aim of improving the chances of ROSC and patient survival in the most demanding environments.

Seeing ATACC choose to run these scenarios using our technology speaks volumes about the trust they place in equipment designed for real‑world complexity, not just controlled environments. From integrated monitoring and CPR feedback to dependable ventilation, these tools are built to support clinicians when conditions are toughest.

A strong example of how the right training, combined with proven technology, helps teams prepare for the moments that matter most.

Over the last few of months, we’ve visited the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) as part of our ongoing collaboration through the Measurement for Business (M4B) programme.

When every second counts, emergency services rely on vehicles packed with life‑saving equipment - from defibrillators and monitors to essential drugs. Knowing exactly where those items are, and whether they’re ready to use, is critical.

At Ortus Technologies, our INSIGHT technology already enables automatic tracking of equipment inside and around emergency vehicles. But the environments our customers work in are some of the harshest imaginable - movement, liquids, metal surfaces, medical electronics and constantly shifting conditions. All of these can distort or block wireless signals.

By bringing together Ortus Technologies expertise with NPL’s state-of-the-art measurement capability, this partnership is helping shape the next stage of our development journey in some of the most demanding real-world environments.

Working with NPL’s world‑class measurement experts – Pravin Patel and Tian Hong Loh on specialised testing inside a real emergency vehicle, we’re gaining insight into how radio signals behave, which enables the support towards the future development of best practice for how our sensors should be deployed, and how we ensure their reliable, energy‑efficient performance in real-world frontline conditions.

This collaboration marks the beginning of an exciting journey, and we’re looking forward to sharing results as they develop.

Supporting learning and advancing discussion around pre‑hospital cardiac arrest care in the Capital this week.

The Ortus Technologies team attended the eCPR Essentials Course delivered by ECAT (Endovascular Cardiac Arrest Team), London’s Air Ambulance Charity, Barts Health and London Ambulance Service.

This collaboration between specialist teams is vital to improving patient outcomes, from enabling rapid access to advanced cardiac arrest interventions in the pre‑hospital environment, through to seamless transition to in‑hospital specialist care. ♥️

The course highlighted the growing clinical focus on extracorporeal cardiopulmonary resuscitation (eCPR), reflecting the ongoing evolution of resuscitation practice within HEMS and critical care medicine.

Throughout the session, clinicians engaged in hands‑on training with leading resuscitation technologies, including the mechanical chest compression system — enabling precise targeting of the area of maximal compression (AMC), supporting consistent, high‑quality CPR in challenging scenarios.

Emerging evidence from the Sydney HEMS PRECARE Trans‑oesophageal Echo (TOE) study shows that in 82% of cases, AMC requires adjustment from standard positioning to optimise flow from the left ventricular outflow tract (LVOT), reinforcing the importance of technology‑supported precision in cardiac arrest management.

A huge thank you to Dr Sean Scott for organising and delivering the course. It was fantastic to see clinicians, educators and industry partners coming together to share insight and shape the future of pre‑hospital emergency medicine and cardiac arrest care.
