Regular upkeep keeps your horsebox road-ready and your horses safe. Here are a few must-do tips:

✅ Check tyre pressure before every trip – underinflated tyres are a safety risk.
✅ Clean and disinfect the interior regularly to prevent bacteria build-up.
✅ Inspect flooring for rot or wear – especially under mats!
✅ Test lights and brakes frequently. Safety first!
✅ Lubricate hinges and latches to avoid jams or noisy rides.

🧼 A well-maintained horsebox = a smoother, safer journey.

Trek Group’s Chief Executive, Tom Janion, is taking on an incredible challenge this October for Weston Park Cancer Charity’s See It Treat It Appeal.

Over 9 days, Tom along with a group of 9 other trekkers will follow the Lemosho Glades route to the true summit of Kilimanjaro – Uhuru Peak, sitting at 19,324ft.

This is a true challenge for Tom, who has never done anything like this before. The days will be long, with the longest trekking day being up to 15 hours long, not to mention the camping along the route.

He is enduring all of this for a to help bring a breakthrough MRI simulator to Weston Park Hospital, that will change the future of cancer screening and treatment.
The See It Treat It appeal is to raise £1.85million to bring this life changing machine to our local hospital to support patients get the best outcomes.

With the challenge being self-funded, all sponsorship will go directly to the appeal and help Weston Park Cancer Charity reach their target by May 2026, seeing the first patients from June 2026.

*This year alone, nearly 10,000 people across South Yorkshire will receive a diagnosis
*Today over 57,000 people are living with the disease close to home – cancer touches every family

Hot weather can turn your horsebox into an oven – and that's dangerous for your horse.
🔥 𝗧𝗶𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻:
𝐀𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤 𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Ensure roof vents and side windows are clear and functional. Consider parking in shaded areas and avoid traveling during peak heat hours.
💧 Bonus tip: Keep water and electrolytes on board – hydration is just as important for horses as it is for humans!
