Here at The Laurels and Limes, every single member of our team is truly special, which always makes this such a difficult decision! 💚

This month, our well-deserved Star of the Month is Carla, our amazing Senior Health Care Assistant 👏💫

Carla has gone above and beyond her role, achieving some truly incredible things along the way. She has grown so much in herself and her confidence, and this has been immediately noticed by management, residents, relatives, and even visitors 🏡❤️

Here at The Laurels and The Limes, we love a happy story 💛

Four years ago, Zoe walked into a new role at The Laurels and The Limes, and from day one she showed incredible dedication, hard work, and truly inspiring leadership 🌟

Today, she stands proudly as Home Manager at The Limes—and what a journey it has been!

Over these four years, we’ve grown together, learned together, supported one another, and worked as one amazing team! It’s been a long journey, but the outcome is nothing short of fantastic!

Zoe has officially passed her probation as Home Manager at The Limes 🎉👏 And honestly… we’re not surprised one bit! We always knew her hard work would be recognised and that she truly deserves this success 💐

On Friday, we held a very special awards ceremony at The Laurels & The Limes Care Home, celebrating the incredible colleagues who have dedicated so many years to Hill Care 💙

Colleagues marking 5, 10, 15 and even 20+ years of service were recognised with certificates and thoughtfully chosen hampers reflecting their length of service, a 'thank you' for a truly extraordinary commitment.

Our colleagues are the heart of our homes. Their compassion, consistency and dedication mean everything to our residents, families and to one another. The relationships they build and the care they provide every single day are what make The Laurels & The Limes such special places to live and work.

A huge thank you to Rob Muddiman and the team at TAO Staffing, Dave Steen and the team at Spire Care Agency, John Springthorpe and the Care Shop team for generously donating and presenting hampers your support helped make the day even more memorable. Another big thank you to our kitchen team for the fantastic buffet they provided for residents, colleagues and visitors.

I think it’s pretty clear just how much of a sweet tooth we have here at The Laurels and The Limes, and we had lots of fun making sweet goody bags 🎁🍬!

We shared them with one another, handed them out to some lovely visitors who came to see us, gave them to family members who popped in for a visit, and of course… we couldn’t resist trying a few of the sweets ourselves! 😋😂

We all love a bit of baking and getting creative with sugar icing! 🧁✨ We spent the entire afternoon decorating delicious shortbread cookies, having so much fun experimenting with colourful icing and designs 🎨🍪.

You all know that at The Laurels and The Limes care home, we absolutely adore our staff. We wouldn’t be where we are today without our amazing team, and we are eternally grateful and blessed to have such wonderful people around us 🌟🙏.

It’s always such a hard time when we have to pick ONE staff member to be the Star of the Month ⭐—because we truly love you all 💔💖.

When it comes to moving into a care home, life can change in many ways. However, here at The Laurels and The Limes, we value continuity and believe it’s important for our residents to remain connected to what makes them happy.

In one of our homes, a resident had been part of a choir for many years before moving into our care. Knowing how much the choir meant to them, this wonderful group personally contacted our Activity Coordinator, Tara, to help make a very special surprise happen. As always, Tara worked her magic and carefully planned everything.

Yesterday, on 22/12/2025, the choir came to The Laurels and The Limes, and we spent a beautiful afternoon singing carols together. It was truly heart-warming to see our residents and the choir spending time together, just like in the good old days. With Christmas approaching, the surprise felt even more meaningful.

Here at The Laurels and The Limes, we value our residents’ pasts and encourage them to continue doing what they love, supporting them to keep living their best lives. 🎄✨
