This afternoon was our much loved Karaoke session that was rudely interrupted by an internet outage so we were unable to stream the music. The lovely Albert jumped in and saved the day by entertaining his fellow residents and the staff by reciting a bit of Shakespeare. Thank you Albert 🥰

An autumn Crosspool.cruise to Moss Valley this afternoon. We stopped and chatted to the horse rider and enjoyed the beautiful scenery as we drove past the farms. It was lovely to see the autumnal colours of red and orange leaves.

Today our Crosspool Crawlers enjoyed a trip out to Weston Park. After a little walk we sat and enjoyed coffee and hot chocolate while watching the wildlife and children playing.

We returned in time for our fish and chips lunch then had a fun afternoon doing arts and crafts. It's always extra special when visitors are here to join in the activities and share the experience with loved ones.

Do you remember our 1990's Porterbrook take on the classic TV show Blind Date? One of our residents won a meal for 2 with our lovely carer Berlin.

Berlin made the decision to come in on her day off for a lovely meal with the winner who chose to have a Thai meal cooked by the lovely Oi.

They both enjoyed spending time with each other and chatting over lunch 🥰

By request our Crosspool Cruisers re-visited the Chatsworth Estate today. We dodged most of the rain and had a beautiful scenic drive through the countryside. We saw lots of sheep and cows and were lucky enough to see 2 deer with huge antlers but sadly we weren't quick enough to get a photo!

We alo made a note of pretty village pubs to visit in the future. 😊

Care is so much more than supporting with daily needs such as washing and dressing and meal provision. Simply spending time with someone is care in itself offering companionship, stimulation and a feeling of safety.

Yesterday we captured a special moment when Karina spent valuable time giving a hand massage to a lady who is unwell. The gentle touching of hands offered reassurance, companionship, safety and comfort.

These moments are rarely captured but what a privilege to be able to share these moments with our residents.

This weekend is Chatsworth Country Fair but we didn't let that stop our planned Crosspool Cruise through the Chatsworth estate. Lots of memories were brought back for our residents who enjoyed visiting Chatsworth in their younger years.

It's hard to believe we have reached the 1990's in our travel through the decades. We had a different take on the theme day this month and rather than a focus on the music we looked back at classic TV shows. The activity team did a great job with creating our own version of Blind Date which was mixed with Guess Who!

Our residents came together to see if they could guess which staff were hiding behind the screen. All departments got involved which was amazing!

Do you remember the Rubix Cube? Staff and residents tried to solve the cube!
