Today B and I have been doing some different content creation to normal, instead of our normal fun we have been creating some fun for our Sunday church service.

It will be my first time preaching on my own (I did an ignition Sunday where 2 others preached along side me)

Our services are all ages so I am hopefully going to engage and add my usual level of humour.

So today we created the reading with a little help from Froggy and the crew!

If you are interested and are local we meet at St Mary’s in Catclife at 5pm on Sundays

Downtime isn’t a reward

It’s part of the plan

Took me a long time to realise that!
Does this resonate?

POV: As a neurodivergent, family pressure to make the holidays magical can ruin it for us!

Is anyone else feeling like they failed because too much time has been spent watching TV, the ipad or playing video games?

I think we sometimes forget that the holidays are about relaxing, unwinding and resetting ahead of another busy term.

The summer term is going to be LOOOOOONG.

There will be sports days, school plays and non-uniform days.

We will have to regulate both ourselves and our kids through all of that.

Taking time to relax how works for us is no bad thing!

In our house, that does include screen time, but it also includes messing around in the garden, short trips out and keeping some semblance of routine.

So this is your reminder that its OK to not have great instagram ready photos to post of all the things you are doing with the kids over the holidays.

I am lucky that I get to take the time with B but the last week has still be a lot of screen time as that is what was needed! The pressure for those still trying to work full time around their ND kids is insane!

Send this to the mum you know is feeling like they don’t do enough for their kids in the holidays or save it to remind yourself you are in fact doing a great job!

If you’ve got a neurodivergent child in your house, you’ll know that waiting for something exciting can be REALLY hard.

Delaying gratification is something many ADHD and autistic brains struggle with.

The excitement builds… and sometimes the chocolate doesn’t survive until the official day 😅

Froggy may or may not be a little bit like that.

Anyone else have this in their house?
