Well folks, it’s the end of a rather large chapter…

I started personal training 6 or 7 years ago after falling in love with training and how much it changed my life. This lead me to want to help others feel their happiest most confident self, and I built this business to a place I’m incredibly proud of, worked with the most amazing clients, and have loved every second.

But after a lot of thought, I’ve decided to bring this door to a close so I can open another. One of my biggest passions is music and singing, and it’s now time to dive into a brand new world and give business no2 my all.

I’m making this post to thank everyone who has supported me over the years. Followers who have interacted with my account, friends/family who have shared my profile, recommended me, and most importantly thank all the clients I have worked with.

I am SO incredibly grateful to have worked with you all. To see you transform, become more confident, heal, prioritise yourself, and become the best version of you there is. You are all incredible. Whether I worked with you all those years ago, or if you’re a current client staying with me for the final few weeks. (I have already let my clients know). Thank you for supporting me, trusting me, and keeping me busy🩷

If you would like to support my new business I will be so appreciative. If you follow my fitness content, this will no longer be something I post! I will most likely be changing my name on here, and just posting more personal bits and bobs!

Excited for this new chapter, and to sing couples into forever ♾️

Love lyds ###

Stop underestimating your ability to change

You can do it
You can achieve your goals

And sometimes we just need that reminder, so here it is.

You’re not stuck where you are, and you’re allowed to want more from life
To feel healthier
To lose weight
To build muscle
To improve your health.

What ever your goals may be, there is no reason why you can’t achieve them.

Ask yourself:
Are these limiting beliefs?
Or are they facts?

9/10, they are limiting beliefs.
‘What happens if I fail?’

Failure is actually very positive, it teaches you what doesn’t work, so you can be redirected to what WILL work.

Instead of looking at everything that might go wrong,
Look at everything that might go right.

What happens if I succeed
How will that feel?
How will that look?
How will it change my life?

Good questions lead to good answers!

Start focusing on why you can do it, and start taking the action.

2 reasons why you’re not seeing results✌🏼

1. You’re not consistent.

As obvious as this may seem, it’s important to realise that results require consistency. And you have to be consistent for a number of months, not a few weeks! It can be very easy to fall into quick fix diets in a society where everything is there at the click of a button.

But, when it comes to changing your body composition, building new habits, unlearning old behaviour, this takes time! If you’ve not seen results after one week, don’t give up. Carry on, keep consistent and that will compound.

2. You’ve got no support or guidance

Having someone in your corner can make a huge difference. If you’re wanting to get results fast, investing in a coach who has all the experience, training and knowledge can be a game changer. They will take the guess work out, hold you accountable, and get you from A-B, all you need to do is action it.

Of course, that may not always be financially possible. So make sure you’re leaning on friends/family to help support you with your goals. Explain why it’s important to you, and get them on your side

If you’re stuck not seeing progress and ready to get results, send me a message and I’d love to help you💜

My favourite high protein snacks!😋

I normally add fruit to these to bump up the fibre content and make them much more filling and satisfying!

I personally find having a weeks worth of these in my house really helpful, especially if I’m in a rush.

Most will be around 20g of protein per serving☺️

Hope this helps!

Anxiety holding you back from going to the gym?

I recently had a conversation with a client who wanted to start training at the gym. Like many other females she was very anxious, and putting it off.

We spoke over her fears, and then set up a plan to ease her into the gym and build up confidence.

It’s not always about diving in head first, especially when anxiety is high. I’d suggest the following:

- Set a date that you want to be fully training in the gym. Putting it off for months will only delay the temporary discomfort.
- Join a gym and initially start just doing some cardio. This can just be 10 minutes, and help you build confidence walking into the gym, and having a sense of purpose
- Do the above for a few weeks, and on your way out take a walk around the gym to get an idea of where everything is
- Pick a versatile piece of kit, for example dumbbells, and find a space. Do 3-4 exercise that only involve these.
- Once you’ve introduced some movements you’re comfortable with, you can then try 1 new piece of kit a week

This is going to make the discomfort, more comfortable as it’s in bite size steps!

3 tips for training when motivation/mental health is dipping:

1. Remind yourself how you will feel after training, how it supports your body, goals, and health. By shifting your attention to the end result, it can feel much more appealing as you know the benefit it will have on you.

2. Drop the weight, do what you’re capable of in that moment. Don’t feel like you have to be doing the most, the fact you showed up for yourself is something to celebrate. If it helps you stay consistent, its the way to go!

3. Move in a way that feels good for you! It doesn’t have to mean pushing yourself to the gym if you really cannot face it. If just facing the day feels hard, the gym may seem out of reach, don’t worry. Try a gentle walk outside, a yoga session in your bedroom, a swim, anything that feels calming. Exercise has many benefits, make it work for you!

I know my mental health has been very rocky over the past few months, so I can say the above does actually help💜

If you feel you’re having to start over every Monday, keep reading.

More often than not, the reason you struggle over the weekend is down to your week days.

You probably think ‘I eat really healthy Monday- Friday’. Then it’s just the weekend I lack self control…

More so, you’re so ‘on it’ week days, you feel you need to let go over the weekend for a release.

Similar to holding on to a a rope really tightly. You start to fatigue, hands get sweaty, sore and you can’t hold on much longer. You eventually have to let go and fall on your bum.

So by not gripping as tightly, you don’t fatigue and can hold it for longer.

You need to allow some flexibility in the week day. If you want some chocolate, give yourself permission.

If you want to go out for a meal, go out for a meal.

You need to start losing your grip on the rope week days so you don’t burn yourself out at the weekend.

Having worked with a lot of females stuck in this position, I can tell you it works.

It may seem scary at first, you’ll find you don’t feel the need to go crazy at the weekend because it’s not off limits.

As a result you’re much more balanced, and no longer needing ‘start again’.

If you need more help with this, send me a message and I’d be happy to help!🤎

A little bit about me..

I realised the other day that I’d never really introduced myself on this account.

So hellloooo, my name is Lydia/Lyds and I’m a online female fitness coach and lover of all things potato’s. You can normally find me in baggy Ts and gym leggings and I have an obsession with Ariana Grande.

Now you know me, I wanted to talk about my fitness journey….I’ll try keep it short🤣

I originally wanted to be a dancer, but unfortunately my mental health took a dive and that went out the window.

I started getting into the gym, and had an absolutely horrendous relationship with food, my body, an exercise. I was under eating, over training, trying to lose weight for dancing, then having periods of binging/overeating

This cycle went on for a while, I dabbled in therapy and had support for BD..things picked up and I decided I wanted to actually eat and build muscle. So I gained a fair bit of weight, and my new obsession turned into trying to grow a massive bum 🍑

I think I’d convinced myself I was a fitness girl now, and after gaining weight I did feel happier in myself which was ironic.

I qualified as a personal trainer and fell in love with fitness all over again. I started working 1-1, and trained lots of different individuals whilst trying to take more courses and learn as much as I could.

I stayed working 1-1 for a few years and had some amazing clients and continued learning. Some I’m lucky enough to still be friends with or coach now🥰 But, I decided to take my business fully online in covid, to help more women, and have been here since.

My mission is to:
1. Help ladies feel their best self, physically and mentally so that they can live their best life.
2. Show females that they’re allowed to take up space in the weight area and get strong!
3. Educate women on how they can eat the foods they love, keep a social life AND lose wight
4. Be a friend and support system to those who need it.

I’m grateful to work with some amazing ladies, watch them continue to thrive, and become the best version of themselves possible ❤️

The other day I posted on my story about the food I used to eat 6/7 years ago.

It was bland, boring, and I convinced myself it was *chef’s kiss*

My body image was awful, I cried daily about how I looked.

I felt the need to do crazy 500 calorie diets, remove all sugar, and eat plain meals. If I had any food I labeled as ‘bad’ it would leave me feeling guilty and panicked for days, and I’d end up eating everything I’d cut out in a craze when I reached breaking point.

My energy was low
My thoughts revolved around food
My relationship with food was s**t.

Why am I telling you this?

I want to talk about my journey because I have BEEN THERE. Healing is not easy, it doesn’t happen overnight, and it required a combination of therapy, coaching, and change.

I didn’t feel peace around food straight away

It took TIME. To be specific, probably the most drastic progress was made over the past 1-2 years.

I don’t label food anymore
I enjoy a balance of it all
I progressed with fat loss this year whilst having foods like the above^
I didn’t need to ‘cheat’ from my diet, because my diet didn’t have rules.
I have energy
I am not in love with myself, but I can accept and celebrate my body for what it does for me.

So this is just a reminder to those starting their journey, give yourself time!! You may see overnight transformations on instagram, but that is not real (in most cases)

Doing the hard s**t, spending time away from dieting, unlearning behaviours, adding in new habits…this all takes TIME.

So, give yourself some time. Invest in the long term results. You will thank yourself for it🥰

You might have just set some goals for January, so here are my top 3 tips to help you stay consistent with them!

1. Make a plan! Sounds simple but if you’re not planning your sessions into a set day/time, you will most likely leave it till it’s too late. Make a commitment to yourself, and stick with it. If you wouldn’t cancel on a friend, why are you cancelling on yourself?
2. Don’t let 1 ‘bad’ day, turn into a week, then a month. Accept that some days won’t go according to plan, but it isn’t that one day that stops your progress! It’s what happens around it.
3. Check-in with yourself and reflect on your week. Reflection is an amazing tool to help you celebrate your achievements, and reset for the week ahead. What went well? What didn’t go according to plan? What could you improve upon this next week?

Hope this helps!

DO move in a way that feels good for you!

DO set boundaries for alcohol consumption. If you want to drink, go for it. If you don’t, set that boundary, and do let others peer pressure you into it.

DO nothing different following the days of eating/drinking more than usual. Trying to restrict food intake to make up, or going the opposite way thinking ‘f**k it, what’s the point now’ will only lead you down a path you don’t want to be on. 1 day won’t ruin/undo any progress you’ve made up till now. Enjoy yourself🥰

How to approach the run up to Christmas🎄

There can be a lot of influence from social media, friends and family to act a certain way. So make sure to ask yourself ‘how would I like to approach this, what’s in line with my values?’

Do you prefer nights in? Does alcohol make you feel like crap for days on end? If yes, maybe turning down the night out, or having a sober evening would be the best decision for you.

If you value time with family, saying no to a gym session might be the better option!

The most important thing this Christmas is that you set your boundaries, do what’s best for YOU, and do not try and please others.

If you put others before yourself, you most likely will regret the decision, or feel unhappy.

You do you, and enjoy!🥰
