⚠️ “I started medical grade skincare and now I’m breaking out… what’s happening?”

This is one of the most common questions we get in clinic.

When you start medical grade skincare — especially products containing retinoids, exfoliating acids or active serums — your skin can go through a temporary stage called skin purging.

And although it can feel frustrating, it’s often a sign the products are doing their job.

🔬 Why purging happens

Medical grade skincare speeds up your skin’s cell turnover.

This means congestion that was already forming under the skin is brought to the surface much faster than normal.

During this time you might notice:
• Small spots or whiteheads
• Blackheads appearing quicker
• Mild dryness or flaking
• Breakouts in areas you normally get them

⏳ How long does purging last?

Usually 2–6 weeks while your skin adjusts to the active ingredients.

Ok this has absolutely nothing to do with aesthetics or work…. but I’m literally bursting with pride and I just have to share it with you all.

Tear trough filler is a treatment designed to improve the hollow area under the eyes, often called the tear trough. This area can create shadows that make someone look tired, even when they feel well rested.

The aim of treatment is not to change your face, but to gently restore volume so the transition between the lower eyelid and cheek becomes smoother.

Why do tear troughs appear?

They can develop due to:
• Natural facial anatomy
• Loss of mid-face volume with age
• Genetics
• Weight loss
• Thinning skin under the eyes

When the hollow deepens, light creates a shadow which can make the under-eye area look darker.

How treatment works

A small amount of hyaluronic acid dermal filler is carefully placed along the tear trough area to support the tissue and soften the hollow.

This can help:
