✨ Dreamy homebirth set-up ✨

A birth client recently said:
"I don't know what homebirth entails to even consider it"

Leave it with me, I said.

One afternoon I recorded the entire set-up to show them just how quick and easy it is, and so I thought I would show you too!

⏳ Timings
• The main set up took 13 minutes.
• The 'ambience' took a further 15 minutes (mostly because I couldn't be bothered using tape for the fairy lights so they kept falling down 🙃
• Filling the pool takes about 30 minutes depending on water pressure.

❔ Common questions
• What about keeping the pool the correct temperature?
- Have the water hotter than expected as it will cool though the hose during filling. Once filled, leave the hose as it is, you can remove water with a bucket, pots or pans, and just add more water through the hose.

• Won't heat be lost out of the bottom of the pool?
- No, the pool has an inflatable base, which is on top of towels and even more things if preferred, this shouldn't be an issue.

• The clean up?!
- That is literally part of my role! I will leave you only when you feel ready for me to leave, and I will make sure your birth space is nonexistent and back to being clean and tidy!

• What is .birth.sling ?
- It allows you some relief and rest while keeping that beautiful UFO position. You can use it on land, with the pool or with the help of your partner.

🍀 Lucky you say...?
Yes, this pool IS lucky!
Every birth it has been at, it has had a baby born into it - including my own!
This is why the pool liner is so important - it keeps the pool squeaky clean and free from mould/mildew, ready for the next lucky family!

Toilet training tips!

When you live something (e.g. EC) you often forget the knowledge you have - until an opportunity presents itself.

I was recently blessed enough to be in a situation where I was able to share some potty/toilet training tips with a friend and her family, and what ensued...?

Their first hits, that's right! HitS!!!! On the potty! 🥳

This left me feeling that I should put together some prompts for others who are currently in the transition from nappies.

A welcoming space for the whole family, to connect with like-minded families over holistic & alternative pregnancy, birth & parenting choices.

☕ Hot drinks & toys/activities provided.

£2 per first child, 50p for each child after.

The Holistic Parenting Circle: Home education meet up at Bounce, Sheffield 📚

17 March St, Sheffield S9 5DQ
For the rest of 2026 future meets will be first Friday of the month.

This meet up is for the whole family. It is social meet for those who are interested in, planning to, or already home educating their child/children.
(There is no age limit, so babies are welcome as are teenagers).

🌡️ As the temperature drops and it gets a little more rainy, us home educators might get a little more housebound, thus our kiddies need extra places to let out energy, so...
Instead of the kiddies bouncing off the walls at home, let them bounce about at... Bounce!
And while they're at it, you can get mingling with other like-minded families 🫂

P A C K A G E S & P R I C I N G

[I'm going to be honest before I get into it, THIS: creating packages, outlining my offerings, putting prices on it, it was hard!

It is hard to put a prices on something I consider an essential service, especially as I love work...

But I have to be real, the cost of my training and extra education in order to provide the best service I possibly can, my extensive doula supplies so that you can borrow rather than buy, and my time... On-call - taking on no other clients over this period, leaving my young family at the drop of a hat, for an unknown period of time? I genuinely cannot put a price on all of this, and so I have settled for prices similar to those in this region of the country/world.

Lastly, people think nothing about spending thousands of £s for their wedding day, but a day which alters how we step into parenthood both physically and emotionally, we often don't think about, though it has been proven that doula care creates more positive birth experiences with outcomes requiring less interventions 🫂]

Back to it!

I have put my packages and prices together in an effort to be completely transparent - I have had a few requests recently (as my website is not yet complete), and I have been stuck on what to say/price.

So here it is!

F R E E B I R T H ✨
Also known as autonomous birth or family birth, the term was coined by midwife Jeanine Parvati Baker. It refers to birthing outside the medical system, without the presence of healthcare professionals.

Birth is not just a physical event, it is a sacred rite of passage for both mother AND baby.
It leaves an imprint; shaping the baby's world as it's very first experience of life, and as a mother - their first experience of motherhood. How we birth and how we are left feeling afterwards can impact our perception of self and our ability as a new mother.

⏳
Though freebirth is often misunderstood or labeled as reckless, it's rooted in ancient wisdom. For most of human history, birth has occurred without any medical practices: intuitively, instinctively, and without intervention.

Hospital birth became the norm less than 100 years ago - not for safety, but as a symbol of status. When men entered birth spaces with tools like forceps, maternal mortality initially rose due to poor hygiene and lack of understanding.

What we lost in that shift:
🌀 Trust in the body
🌀 Sacred space
🌀 Primal rhythms

And what we gained?
Timed contractions, routine inductions, and constant surveillance, creating more risk than that which they aim to prevent.

Birth without medical professionals is not new, it's inherently natural.
And for some, it’s the safest, most empowered choice.

As the Freebirth Society says:

“Freebirth may even be the best way to protect the health & safety of both mother & child during the most transformative experience of our lives.”
